Sploosh

I had been doing so well, but last night I didn't blog.

Two reasons this might come down to are that I didn't have anything pressing to talk about and also I spent ages trying to draw a picture for James' fiction blog story "Stones" (which isn't public yet).

Yesterday went as a normal Monday does, 9 am lecture for two hours on Modernist art followed by a silly early lunch, recording and editing of a video, posting of said video and then art until 5pm.

We had a ready meal curry for tea last night to get it eaten up and it was actually fairly nice, it wasn't really spicy at all.

This morning, Tuesday, I reluctantly returned to my room before my first lecture, that was at 11.
Before this however I ventured out to buy more tickets for Jon Richardson.
He's coming to campus on Thursday night so I just HAD to get them, even though we're going to see him in May...

That'll be time 3 and 4.

The rest of today's plan is to head over to the studios in a few minutes and work until just before my 3 o'clock seminar. I'll probably work after for a bit too.

Tonight at SSAGO we're having a child themed party, this should be fun fun fun.

Right, spose that is all!

'Til tomorrow (I think).

Spending money

Today I awoke feeling rested for the first time in a while.
Oftentimes I wake up in the middle of the night and end up scratching even though I don't want to.
This breaks my sleep pattern (and I'm sure it annoys James a lot too) leaving me to wake up tired.

Anyhoosle, after rousing James from his rather steady slumber we decided to watch last night's Heroes. A program that despite it's major flaw (it feels like nothing ever happens) is still pretty enjoyable.

We ate banabar cake for breakfast again and I sat and read a chunck of Dan Brown while James did some computer business.

We set off about 12 to walk into town and buy of tickets for Alice in Wonderland 3D.

This was indeed the first of the new generation 3D films I have witnessed (the last time I saw 3D in the cinema was Spy Kids 3 and that was TERRIBLE).
I honestly thought the film was very enjoyable but I do not understand the appeal of the 3D experience.
I'd much prefer to see a high definition and highly clarified version of any film than to have my points of focus chosen for me by the effects. You can't have any of those "ooooh, look at that bit in the background" moments when the 3D-ness is directing you. It also gave James a headache...

All the characters and voices and beautifully imaginative costumes and scenery were admirable though. I'm glad she chose not to marry that guy from "Me and Orson Wells" too.

We decided to get the bus back as it was fairly chilly outside, I did my Art History reading while James did some Maths bumf and we went to Pitzzetta for tea. Fried chicken and chips, yummy.

The ducks were walking on the very thin covering of ice on the pond and we heard it shatter and watched them splosh into the water! Sweet.

Now I shall relinquish the keyboard to James once again and see how much I can get read of The Lost Symbol, I really wish I could finish it soon as I just want ANSWERS!

Good nightingales.

Saga

That Twilight Saga, oh how the books gripped me, way back when I read them.

We've just got in from seeing New Moon at the Uni cinema.

I liked the wolves.

---

Today was a fairly lazy one in which we consumed too much sugar.

I've read a fair chunck of The Lost Symbol now too and it's written in just the way that intrigues and irritates simultaneously!

---

We're probably going to walk to town to see Alice in Wonderland tomorrow.
I hope it's good, the 'verts make it look so.

Going to close off this little blog now.
Byesies.

Sneezes

Look at how I've managed to write here so many times in the last few days.
Want to know why?
It's because I've been reminded, by James.

This isn't just because he likes to read them, it's because he himself is now writing his very own blog.
I think it's nifty, and if you like a mathmatical point of view of the world you might like to check it out.

(Go on Mum, you know you want to read it!)

Today was one of those daft Fridays, like every term time Friday, a 9 o'clock life drawing session.
Thankfully this week our model didn't bleed in front of us, it was actually quite a pleasant drawing experience although my arm got really tired as usual.

By 11, when the session ends, I am always left feeling drained and totally ready to just go straight back to bed. Though I didn't, I lasted 'til quarter past twelve because I was editing the photos of the water droplets because everyone was so intrigued by them in my video. I thought I'd print out and mount them on my wall for the examination which is some point next week.

Afterwards I went to Spar, bought some chocolate mousses that were on offer and proceeded upstairs to eat lunch and watch last nights Skins. The Uke was sweet but the lip-syncing was terrible.

This afternoon James and I made the banabar cake we've been intending to make for a good long while.

Now we're listening to acoustic guitar songs from James' iTunes playlist.
I have to say that Bad Religion (in my opinion) are terrible unless they're acoustic.

So yes, that was today and it was lovely.

Now it's the evening and we're not going to see Paranormal Activity; we might watch Cars...

Tiddlybye!

Student life

Last night James and I played the "song intro, who is it by and what's it called game". That one where you stick you mp3 player (for me) or iTunes (for James) on shuffle and don't let the other person see the information. You also have to stop the song just before the singing, or at least before the name of the song is said.
This is difficult when the music isn't your own but James seems to be a pro at guessing when singing may begin.
I used to be good at this game; it's difficult when a lot of the music you haven't listened to, or that when you do you don't take note of the title of it because it's on an mp3 player tucked away somewhere. Unlike the habit of when you got a new CD album as a teenager and you (I say you, I could just mean 'I' here, I have no idea of your, the reader, habits) just sat and absorbed the entirety of the musical experience, including learning the names to the songs.

This challenge kept us thoroughly amused until the time felt right for us to go and prepare the lasagne's we'd defrosted which James' mum had brought at the weekend. They were much better than the regular premade ones as they didn't taste of plastic, but they didn't quite come close enough to a good freshly made one either.

In the evening we watched Pocahontas. I love that film, mainly the parts with Miko and Percy (the raccoon and dog) but the songs are lovely too and I loved the ability to completely see ridicule in it now that I'm older and I understand life a lot more complexly. Got to love Disney.

I watched listened to First Time Voters Question Time today. Why was Jamelia on there? It was fairly interesting though.

I've painted my nails black.

James and I lay around listening to the Dave Gorman podcasts from the last two weeks too this afternoon. It was lovely and relaxing and ever-so entertaining (especially all the anecdotes about OCD-ish habits).

For tea we had a good standard student meal of sausages, egg and beans.

OH, today was Peeps day, I'm sure you'll see that in Hazelizabeth though.

I like the blog writing thing, when I put the effort in, or just sit down to it, it sort of flows. Maybe it's because I'm typing on James' laptop, maybe not.

Who knows.

Shizzle.

SSAGO elections

Last night I went along to SSAGO, happy as larry, at 7pm thinking, this will be a nice night voting for other people to take the roles in the soc.

It ended up that I ran for the Web master and publicity officer and got voted in (as I was the only one who ran this wasn't surprising) so now I'm in charge of mending the broken website soon and running the Freshers and ReFreshers advertising.

We all got certificates too and mine and Rachael's were "most enthusiastic fresher".

Afterwards James and I had tea, we had stir-fry with rice and peppers and it was scrumptious. Then I started to feel all strange and uber tired even though it was only about 10 o'clock so I decided to read one of the only books in James' room which is Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. It sent me to sleep a bit.

Today I was happy to find that 117% has arrived and so I'm wearing my t-shirt.

In my head though I'm still singing Joseph Birdsong's "How does it feel to know this song is about you".

I'm off to buy some paper from Bill and then head over to James' for a lovely Wednesday afternoon.

:D

Seriously?

I only posted 5 blogs last month, when I had the letter R that could have had some amazing titles. So now I'm at S and I'm going to TRY AGAIN.

Dave Gorman's blog today embeded a video that I found simply fascinating.

*the above was written yesterday*

See, I was going to blog everyday but yesterday I worked late and forgot about it while I was editing my own video... excuses excuses.

The film was cancelled last night so we watched Enchanted on DVD instead, after feeding bread to the ducks of course.

My entire body was in achey pain last night, it was foul.
It's on the mend now though, I feel rather revitalised.

117% complete, my t-shirt and badges have still not arrived.
The postage I paid for said 2-7 days and Alan sent the email on the 24th to say it was sent... So I can expect it very soon!

I'm not often fond of Tuesdays. It's two PinE things with a bit of a gap in between which is just annoying enough to not be sufficient for working.

I'm going to read my reading for this afternoon's seminar now and contemplate it.

Tonight is a SSAGO voting thing, probably not the most fun of events but before it James and I have a stirfry to make! :D
