Real life

Stopped me from blogging. It seems to be that way for a few people nowadays but it shouldn't be. I love to splurge my thoughts out over here!

So I went to New York! It was amazing, I suppose I should do a photo blog over here at some point but right now it has to go onto my to-do list along with a bazillion other things because we have a PinE report to write and this is the last piece of coursework for this course and it sure as hell looks like it's going to take forever to get right.

The other day (Tuesday it was) in our PinE lecture this lovely woman, Jo (the lecturer) proved to me that no matter how much you know other people aren't as good with technology as us (the internet types) it is STILL possible to watch someone and want to scream in frustration at ineptitude.
Let me lay out to you quite what her failure was.

Right, you know youtube videos?

They have this function to make them fullscreen.

I admit that it used to look different, but it IS still in roundabout the same place.
Perhaps poor Jo didn't know this before, but I'll show you now what she proceeded to do while trying to make a video bigger.
This was all done in IE too so that's what I'll use for illustration.

You would assume the first thing she would do is click to maximize?
Wrong.

She used the "Page" "Zoom" "Zoom in" function. Repeatedly until getting to 400% which she could have just clicked the first time. We see this on the screen (or similar as this isn't the same video!

After leaving it like this for a good 20 seconds as she had a drink of water she looked to the big screen WHICH IS CLEARLY GOING TO BE THE SAME AS HER MONITOR!
And scrolled to the left a bit!
It was so pointless that if I HAD been at the end of a row I might have run down to the front and fixed it!

This is all I really want to share with you right now, other than this I'm very happy, maybe annoyed by my Lab report but I have ideas for art and all else is GOOD!

Right on time

I've accepted this should have been done sooner but also that I'm flying out to NYC tomorrow for a week so I thought: must blog now!

On Tuesday with SSAGO we played campus monopoly which was fun but we failed miserably. I ended up dreaming a different route over and over all night. James came along that night because it was "bring a friend" and it was well good!

On Wednesday we went on our first proper date. Yeah, I know we've been going out 4 and a half months BUT we've never been out for a meal just the two of us in town followed by the theatre. We went to Bella Itallia and it was scrumptious. Afterwards we meandered through the very cold winds of Lancaster to the theatre in which we were entertained MUCHLY by Russell Kane's Fakespeare. There were so many moments that were just awesome.

Hazel and I have recorded a version of the new game "No More Women" but it won't sync up properly!

Men Who Stare At Goats was an epic film. Pancakes are great at ANY time of year (especially early because you're going to miss the real on by being in the USA). Steak is even better for a pre Valentine's day Valentines meal because you're missing the proper day for that too!

Well, must post this as James should be back from town soon so we can have our second "not quite but a bit like" Valentine's afternoon/evening!

Love you! (Which I can say because the only people who read this anymore are Ash, Haze, Mum, James and sometimes M?)

Rather delayed and bullet pointy

So the other day I was looking online and saw that Dave Gorman is doing part of his tour in Preston on Feb 11th, it's sold out...

We could have travelled for that if I wasn't going to New York this weekend and tbh we're going to see Russell Kane's Fakespeare on the 10th!

The other day Alex sent me a text at exactly 13:37, it was just lyrics from Tom's Catsong but it was just hilarious.

This made me giggle too when posting on Haze's blog:

The other night we attempted to watch the Fifth Element and James was just not happy with it so we gave up.

For breakfast we had pineapple FRESH.

On Saturday there was a Fire Alarm. Then another one half an hour later.

9, the animated film, is AWESOME!

Sunday morning was washing morning with a Sunday lunch of chicken, potato and peas.

Is it too creepy to say I had a wonderful massage? Seriously it stopped me being all itchy at night so it was darn amazing.
:D :D

I adore Flight of the Concords.

Last night, Monday we saw a documentary called Three Miles North of Molkom, it was so very very good just because real people are hilarious!

In art I've been experimenting with water droplets again, their delicate and suit my aims... but I also want to mess with my hot glue gun at some point, maybe when I go over in a bit!

James has got a room off campus next year in Chancellor's Warf and he has to go look at it tomorrow at 5:30... which might make it difficult to make Bella Itallia before Fakespeare, though we WILL make it work!

I'm watching the program about 100 years of guiding now! :D

Rabbit Skin Glue

So basically I left you hanging on Monday night with the problem of maybe or maybe not going to see Thirst.

Now it has reached Thursday, my day of freedom to get work done but also so I can blog blog blog about the last few days.

As it turns out we did watch the film, and it was much better than I thought it was going to be. Vampires are SO MUCH better when they blister in the sun.

So Tuesday span around and I went to both of my Psychology things. On Monday we had been taught how to put together the wooden frame for my canvas. We're doing an oil painting session in art this week so we had to learn how to construct our own canvases, and so on Tuesday Chris (not SSAGO Chris who gets mentioned later) and I were melting down the rabbit skin size for our canvas. It smells quite terrible.

On the evening it was our SSAGO Safari Supper where three members of the exec host a different course of a meal and we dress up and go around and eat. Our fancy dress theme was American because it is Groundhog day this week. I ended up going as Sabrina the Teenage Witch!
We had our starter at Chris' County flat. Chicken, veg, cheese and beer soup. Nachos too.
For our main we headed to Grizedale and Megan's flat for hotdogs, fries, curly fries and absolute hilarious conversation.
Pudding was chocolate brownie in Kirsty's Lonsdale accommodation. Nomnomnom.

It was dead late by the time we finished, I think I ended up back at James' for about half 11. Zzzzz.

Wednesday started with me getting over to art as soon as I could to get on with my oil painting and working up to and through the entire compulsory session. In three hours I got a fair amount sorted and I'm well happy. I hope I can get more done on it today but I doubt it as I have a heck lot of written work to do instead...

James and I took yesterday afternoon to go into town and go shopping. It snowed so we didn't walk into town even though that's what we had planned. We bought a pomelo because it looked interesting and a whole host of other things. I still need to buy some oyster sauce for doing chinese cooking though.

For tea we felt uninspired to cook a proper meal so we had pancakes instead. Very good and very filling pancakes.

This leads to today. Today in which I had an apple and cinnamon muffin for breakfast.

:D

I listened to Evelyn Evelyn on MySpace due to Alan's recommendation and then set off to meet up with Alice and Hannah to discuss our PinE lab stuff. It's horrid and I have to draft some of that today as well as sorting out my Art History stuff and tidying my room a little bit.

I need to make a more smooth video about my recent art for my personal channel and edit Hazelizabeth tomorrow, and I think I shall make a making morph video when I get round to making morph.

Now I'm going to go empty my bin thanks.

Jennifer's Body tonight at the cinema if you were wondering.

KBAI

Monday 1 February 2010

Really?

"ARRRH". RRRRR.

It's February.

This bamboozles me.

It's a fine Monday evening at 6:22 and I'm watching Hazel's rebel friend Didi pretend to jump rope. SKIP.

I've just ordered Alex's new EP bundle, which has a T-SHIRT and BADGES.
This is a good thing.

James went to view a house today for him and his friends to live in next year. It was mouldy. FAIL.

I quite like this video though I'm going to make a more refined version for my own channel some point this.

I need to charge my phone, and we might go to see the film at Uni tonight, we might now.

As of yet we haven't decided because it's a Korean subtitled vampire film called "Thirst". It has great reviews but is 133mins long, gory and I dislike subtitled films usually.

What else...

OH I stretched a canvas today! Well made the wood bit, will staple canvas to it tomozlo.

BYE need food BYE!
