Phwoar

We saw this today on our way home, then went to Nana's for EPIC Christmas dinner!

:D

Sunday 27 December 2009

Pling

Right, so technically this broke the "every day in December" posting schedule. But I'll post one later on the 28th when the day is properly over too.

Today, my 19th Birthday was lovely.

Breakfast at 10ish with presents (those that were brought as some are still at home).
I got a collectable gold darlek.
Catching Fire.
Two other good looking books.
ZELDA Spirit Tracks on DS that is AMAZING (Thank-you James!)

M is doing a similar Birthday message trail hidden thing that I did for her too!

We went to buy a cake from M&S and got stuck in crazy traffic then went to the Cornmill (no surprise) for lunch.

Haze and I watched another episode of Misfits this afternoon and around half 4 we went over to my Auntie/Uncle/Cousin's for tea.

A well epic evening was held.

I'm tired now so I'm cutting this short.

Pigs in Blankets

Orrite?

I got my new mattress this morning! It's fabby.

Now we're at Grandad's for second Christmas dinner, and are watching through "Misfits" on 4OD.

It's fairly good.

I'm 19 tomorrow!

The web here is hit and miss so today's is a short message.

Parents, Nana and Us.

Family time for Christmas is just smashing!

Marissa Mix CD was such a lovely non physical present.
XD

My Witches Wand is the BEST!
The T-Shirt Haze got me that says I'm a YouTube star! and it is FANTASTIC!
James bought me a hoody that feels like a hug.
Mum and Dad got me (among other smaller things) a printer and an umbrella that should never go inside out.
FANKS!

We watched the Incredibles, the Gruffalo and Dr.Who.

I HAVE SOME THINGS TO SAY:

(slight spoils)

Same lipstick? Lucy Saxon's pals had time to develop the potion but she still had his DNA on her mouth. Time fail.

WILFRED ftw

The Master's Super Jump? Qu'esque qu la craik?

Narration? whaaat?

Ooooooods!

Red chlorophyll for the red grass on Galifrey?

FOR GALIFREY!
Oooft, TimeLords!

So I'm going to sleep now, Leeds tomorrow!

xx

Thursday 24 December 2009

Putting things away.

That was what my day mainly consisted of.

That and half building an igloo.

We finally watched Labyrinth and it is fantastic.

Christmas tomorrow!
My Birthday on Sunday!
James on the 29th!

:D

Pribbles and Prabbles

The doctor I went to see this morning was so genuinely interested and helpful that I'm sure his optimism alone will get me better and stop me scratching!

Later on, after a lunch including pork pie (of which I'm not the biggest fan) that was good because it coincided with the first episode of series 3 of The Big Bang Theory. Hilarious.

Around 2 I went to town to see Caitlin and have a Christmas catchup. We talked none stop as I haven't seen her since, what 12 weeks ago (or more)! We had hot chocolates and then went shopping for her last minute gifts that included a roll for putting jigsaws on to store them away half done.

One of the many stories we covered is the amazing fact that she has met a real life almost example of Colin Singleton. She knows a girl who has only ever gone out with guys named Tom. Currently this girl is having problems deciding which of three Tom's she prefers!

I've just got a lift home from Cait's Dad and am about to, hopefully, watch Labyrinth with Hazel!

We only got 10 mins watched D: before we had to go do other things and eat tea.

I've spent since then sorting stuff in this old room of mine.

Ergh.

Bath and bed now.

Toodles!

Tuesday 22 December 2009

Pasta

Man we had an early morning this morning, and by that I mean 8:30 without lying around in bed 'til 11.

It was snowing and looked ever-so pretty! But we checked online and it implied trains would be running late. So we set off earlier (James coming with me through to Liverpool).

I got hot chocolate and sat around while we waited to see if my train would pop up on the arrivals/departures board. After a while James decided he wanted hot chocolate so I stayed with my bags while he wandered off. He came back convinced he'd seen Bill Bailey!
On the station announcements we were pretty sure we heard "Will mister James Kirk please report to the blahdiblah" and that made us giggle for a good while.

Train journeys went ok without problems with changes or delays and my mp3 player kept me amused.

Home is lovely, I'm glad to be back even though I'm going to miss James horribly over the next week, I'm sure I'll cope as it's ever so busy and we do still have mobiles and the internet.

Pineapple

Is, in fact, the BEST fruit ever.

James would disagree and say bananas.

---

Today we made the Banana-Mars(bar) cake. Or Banabar loaf as it should be called.
It took us far too long but was well fun and it should appear in my Hazelizabeth video at the end of this week.

We watched Wall-E properly without it skipping (or us falling asleep) and also I made my sexymac video which took altogether too long to film and edit. (I had a lot of thinking to do.)

I'm sort of sad that this is my last full day here with James.

BUT tomorrow I get to go home and see my family, and my new bed, and do some proper catching up that wasn't possible when they were all still in school!

The busy times start now.

---

James just completed the free trial of Auditorium and is back to making Fantastic Contraptions!

Night Yo.

Sunday 20 December 2009

Psshawwch

Well then.

Today was well nice, even though I DO have this cold that is bugging me.

I sorted out coming home on Tuesday, because of the weather it's by train so I'm going to have to manoeuvre that with bags and such but it'll be fine.

We had this lush lamb dinner that James' Mum did, nomnomnom.

Also, we've finally caught up with FlashForward. NOTHING HAS BEEN ANSWERED.
This is the exact reason I refused to get into Lost and NOW look at it!

P.S. Blog title is the noise that taps make.

Saturday 19 December 2009

Pudding

I was going to write this while James was getting pudding but Jingle was in the room and wouldn't let me type.
Now that the sticky toffee pudding is eaten (and it was good) I'm free to tell you about our lovely lazy day.

I had a bit of an iffy morning, didn't feel 100% but I had a nap and was soon fine to sit and watch 5 full episodes of FlashForward. It was well good (hence why we kept watching).

That was pretty much it really, that and eating steak for tea.

WHEY!

OH also, today was interspersed with texts from Mum and Hazel who were keen to tell me about their day shopping and the snow. One text from Hazel read along the lines of "We have no front step, I repeat the snow is as high as the front step!"

We're going to watch Wall.E now so YEY!

Friday 18 December 2009

Penguins!?

Today was well good.
We got up fairly early and James' Mum made us bacon butties.

We went to Liverpool on the train (only £2.80 return ;)) and went to try and find a cash point but it was cold and we didn't so we headed back to the station to meet his friend Lucy who was on the next train after us because she'd had a driving test this morning. She was well happy all day because she'd passed.

James is currently taunting the cat out of the room by offering her Chocolate pudding as such a distance that she follows it. :D

I digress. We then went on a wander but as it was close to 1 we went for foods. There was this amazing diner that had booths and juke boxes in each. Me and Lucy each had a chicken fillet burger and James had one with BLUE cheese. Look, I know it isn't like, fluorescent, I just felt the need to emphasise.

After eating we went shopping for last minute things and at one point we stopped to look at a market stall that this old dude with a massive Russian style hat on. He started telling us about the bracelets he sells with Mary's face on them and how there is a high demand for them now that the Cathedral stopped selling them. (Because people were buying them for the "wrong reasons".)

During our visit we spied a fair few penguins, big penguins all painted funky. Like the Manchester cows or the Bath pigs. OR THE LAMBANANAS!

Before we got the train back we popped into the The Walker Gallery to have a spy of a few bits of classic and modern arts.

Tonight (because it's James' Dad's birthday) we went for a meal out and it was GOOD. Nomnomnom.

So, anyway, we're just sitting while I write this and these two epic statements were made.

"Exclamationbang!"

"You don't even put Dad's with a catipul"

Thursday 17 December 2009

Perishing

Today it's cold.
Full stop.

Hazel sent me a picture message of the school yard covered in snow!
It's even almost snowing here, almost.

We got up fairly late today and just had cuddle time and then watched some Project for Awesome videos. It made me feel a bit bad that I haven't recorded one this year, but to be honest it's 80% (I think John said) about participating via commenting and rating.
ALSO, in other youtubely news, BARRYALDRIDGE is subscribed to me now. YEY!

This afternoon we got the train from Garswood to Prescot then got a lift from James' Mum to his Grandad's.
He was dead sweet and lovely and gave me a tenner for Christmas!
Also his Auntie Dianne showed up so I met her too.

Ooo! We're going to have stuffed peppers for tea and then, maybe, watch this thing on iPlayer called Perfect Creature. Should be good.

TOODLES!

Wednesday 16 December 2009

People of the college variety

I got up fairly early this morning because I could hear my family rattling around getting ready for school. So I popped downstairs to say my goodbyes because later I would be getting a lift from James's Dad to his house.

They arrived at just before 11 and we were on the road soon enough because Chris was a little bit impatient.

:)

We had a nice (just under) three hour journey in rain and fog and whatever and ate sausage rolls.

Arriving at James' I was greeted by his more adventurous cat, Jingle. She was keen to be cuddled, unlike Belle who I've barely seen in comparison. They're lovely the cats.

James' Dad went out and so we just sat around all afternoon making up for the last few days... :)

Later on, when Lynn got in we had ham salad sandwiches (of which I can still sort of taste the onion) before we went to his old college to pick up his A Level result certificate and hang out with his "Bench Crew". It was quite surreal seeing Adam (a dude who has the room opposite me at Uni) there, but overall it was just a generally nice experience!

We walked to get the train back (spending £1.25) and then the 5 min walk to his house where we are now.

As I've typed this James has started playing his bass GEETAR along to Muse-y-ness
XD

Also I have Jingle to stroke!

:D

Pants

Being at home and inside all day doesn't quite merit an entire blog.

My inner musings aren't so inspired!

Yesterday I forgot to mention that I got ID'd for a 15 DVD. The Notebook. I'm nearly 19. FLM.

I've cleaned my windowsill and sorted a tiny bit of my room.

Mostly though I listened through a load of half heard podcasts thanks to the newer iTunes alerting me to them while I sorted my "My Picture" folder that was a shambles and is now only half a shambles.

I need to pack my stuff around and about so that I'm ready to go to James' in the morrow.

I live in a room that encompasses every year of my life since I moved up here, much of it needs sorting.

I look forward to that sort of!

Monday 14 December 2009

Purchasing

Well today was just lovely.

I got up, was a bit drowsy but had a small chat with Hazel and Mum before they all trooped off to school and then settled in for a good long bath.

I quickly recorded my sexymacaroni video and left that to upload as I set off into town to meet Laura and Jen.

We did Christmas shopping then went for Chinese eat-as-much-as-you-like as we planned.
Dave also showed up and it was nice to see him for the moment he was there!

After more meandering and chat we headed to Leonard's coffee shop and I had a white hot chocolate.

:D

Hazel finished up at school and headed down so we could catch the bus home together, eat omelette and watch that Su-Bo program.

I'm sat on my bed now with a couple of videos loading (darn slow home internet!) and some mice to knit!

Good day!

Sunday 13 December 2009

Packing

I'm home now.

I intended to write a small blog before I set off and then write about today tomorrow.

Instead, the time flew and my tidying and packing was done, I was listening to Jon and lo and behold my family arrived!

We sat and ate tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches and bananas in my tiny room and then, out of the kindness of our hearts, emptied the recycling.

I've brought barely anything home with me compared to the stuff I have left in halls and my studio and yet it is definitely more than I could take back on a train.

I have this issue too with the Term dates, they say Friday the 8th is the first day of term... but there is no way I could get back for then unless I went on Saturday the second. Which is INSANE. Or I got the train and live from the crap clothes I left there until my parents visit.
OR I could just go back to Uni on the Saturday after ready for the Monday.

ARGH.

I'm having a kerfuffle about travelling to see James and him coming here too!
My parents are busy teacher types and only have 2 weeks off at all and although they do want to encourage me to have a life they also do need to have some fo their own.
Anyway, I'm sure we'll get it sorted and it'll still be an amazing Christmas!

My room is FULL of stuff that desperately needs to be sorted or thrown away.

I'm going to go to sleep after tea probably.

Perfect Birthday Present

James has been asking me for AGES what I want for my Birthday this coming 27th of December and this morning I finally realised that I would like the new Zelda DS game.

I say "finally realised" because it was this morning that it became the official "that's what I'll get Liz". I've wanted the next Zelda DS game since I completed Phantom Hourglass!

I've sort of half packed some things to take home, at least, I've sorted through the mahoosive pile of papers and books that I had.

There is someone on the floor above me playing their guitar fairly loudly.

This morning I rediscovered "Let them sing it for you" and a fair few lols were had.

Because it's only 13 days til Christmas and this is my last full day on campus, I'll be going over to James' soonish and we'll spend the rest of the day together.

There are things that need doing, like packing, but I can do that tomorrow morning, right?

:D

Someone remind me to check my post before I leave!

Friday 11 December 2009

P-Floor

Well today we finished our first term by doing studies of our city!
It was actually fairly fun.
I've cleared out most of the stuff I've done so far so that when I get back it's a nice clean open area to work in too.

James and I (after eating steak for tea) went on an exploration up the Bowland Tower, all the way up to O floor where it stopped so there is no real P floor, but the blog title works in it's own strange way.
By the top all there really was was skanky walls and dead flies.
It was fairly creepy.

Now we're going to watch QI and Russell and it will be a good good night.

My feet are full of beef.
(in joke for old readers or Hazel)

Thursday 10 December 2009

Podcasts

The Pottercast and The Student Breakfast Show are actually amazingly inspiring for sorting out and vacuuming.

Although now I've just got in from a lovely 40min walk (and sit on swings in the park) with James and there is my new desk chair and all I want to do is spin in it and leave the piles of stuff.

Ok so I watched Waterloo Road and Buzzcocks.

We're going to cook soon, so there.
Tomorrow is the last day of term.

That's mental.

That's nearly ELEVEN weeks here.

Well, I need to decide what travels with me over the holidays, a month is such an odd time to pack for!

Chris' freezer tray full of water that AJ did last night has frozen. I REALLY want to see his face when he checks it after Christmas.

Anyhoosle. I have little else to say here today.
As in this is the end.

Prescription

Doctors at 9:10 this morning, got stuff that should sort out the eczema...
I neeeeed to stop scratching but that's the hardest thing because once I stop paying attention my fingers stray. Even keeping my nails short doesn't work!

In Art today we finished off out island construction.

This afternoon I failed to help James revise for his maths tests and then came back over to our side for Secret Santa!

It was cute and fun event that got us all talking.

I got a really lovely liquorice all-sorts looking bracelet and some biscuits and a hat. (From Roz because most people said!)

Roz got this toy horse from Tom and it's awesome, it had an apple and hay and fences and a trophy! It's sat in the corridor all cute and fun.

James and I plan to watch "Stranger than Fiction" tonight.

GOOD TIMES

Tuesday 8 December 2009

PinE in the arse

Is there no solution?
Can I please have a non-spotty AND non-dry face back.

Right this moment I don't have any horrible dry skin on my face.

BUT by moisturising it I've allowed it to become spotty.

THIS IS A FARCE.

Right this moment I'm actually amazingly happy (except for my face but while I don't have to look at that it's ok).

Although I left my massive bowl of salad in James' fridge... and didn't get the washing done last night because there was no water on campus.

Crazy! So we cooked and stayed in and played Oblivion, obv.

Well we had a career talk instead of PinE today this morning.
It makes me worry, just because I've never yet had a job it mkes it seem as if I'm a massive life fail!

Ah well, my salad-y lunch and two hours painting made me feel better and then our Seminar made me feel better about this essay which, although I'll have to do LOADS of reading for, seems much more manageable now. I might do little sections of reading and writing for it while James is doing his crazy ass amounts of rowing training running!

Well, I'm going to cook now so night-o!

Monday 7 December 2009

Please read this:

http://tommilsom.com/art-is-not-an-art-any-more-1076.html

Today we worked on our city islands and all that needs to be done now is for Bill to spray paint them!

Tonight James and I are cooking again.

It feels properly like Christmas season now that I'm about to wrap up the Secret Santa gift!

W00p!

Sunday 6 December 2009

Put your best foot forward!

So another day began with a lazy lazy (lovely) morning where I only managed to get to showering by about 11.

I know it's now nearly 4 but it doesn't seem like much has happened although I HAVE made some progress on my Art History notes that are to be typed up soonish.

Yesterday, after the whole "James got back from rowing at 6" debarkle we ended up not doing the stir fry and so we'll do that tonight instead.

James said (500) Days of Summer was his favourite of all the films this term.

:D

There are some fantastic bits of movie magic in there, just *thumbs up*.

Anyhoosle, I'm surprised I've now managed 6 days back in the blogging cycle though it upsets me to see that I don't get any comments any more, it might be because I'm just terribly dull now that I live more in meet world than here.

Saturday 5 December 2009

Piffle

Today started with a very lazy bed ridden morning and so actually started about 11 am.

I watched Waterloo Road and listened to TSBS podcast and THIS WEEK the questions were on WELDING!

Me and James are supposed to be cooking up a stir fry tonight before we go and see (500) Days of Summer.

He isn't contactable.

I'm going to go over there and maybe end up standing in the cold.

WHERE ARE YOU!?

In other words, today was great until now when I'm petrified of the invisible trains or possible river injury?

Most likely he's just in the kitchen without signal...

I came back to my room as there is no sign.

I'm going to hate this whiny blog in the future but right now I'm just worried!

Friday 4 December 2009

Portmanteau

Previous to this current blog title I had

"P-window"

As I had asked James for a word that began with "P"

He said "window" and I thought it's be fine to add the P.

This reminded me of the story about portmanteau/cliffmas/wombination that I talk quite confusedly about in my latest video.

Today I spent from 9am til 3pm constantly in the art rooms.

James is defrosting some mince for our tea RIGHT NOW and we're going to go and see his friend AJ in a break dancing competition then sit and watch Russell Howard's Good News and QI ep 2. Maybe after that we'll play Oblivion for hours. It's quite likely.

Yesterday we saw "Adventureland" it was actually pretty good even though it makes me like Kristen Stewart even less. She's just a bit pathetic, not as an actress, just the characters she plays have this affectation of *insert imitation of behaviour here* mussing hair and half finishing sentences with sighs of frustration.

Right-e-o.

I'm off to enjoy le soir.

:D

Then

Thursday 3 December 2009

Perfectly Original

Yesterday afternoon, after I'd done some art, I went over to James' where he's cooked some mince and it was good and we sat and played Oblivion for 2 and a half hours and then we watched Black Books and for once the building was quiet all night and I had a very odd dream about Nana owning a B&B.

This morning I'm about to go to a PinE lab session and sit on the computers there while a guy fails to help me understand the statistics program SPSS and I just use Excel instead.

Last time (two weeks ago) I ended up googling to find out if there were any Muse tickets anywhere but they were all for Manchester or London and were ALL over £100.
DAFT that.

This afternoon James and I are going to take a good old fashioned Christmas shopping trip into town!

I just downloaded all the songs that Eddplant has up online for freezies. I really hope I get his EP for Christmas, or that Hazel does because I'm SURE she's put that on the list of ones she wants...

OH WHAT!?

ARGH!

Oh right so I'm going to post this now before I go shopping.

Tales on that maybe tomorrow!

Wednesday 2 December 2009

Post 391

Last night's Christmas meal was really good.
Apart from the fact that the "Seasonal Vegetable Soup" was, in fact, mushroom.

In my cracker I got a small plastic green crab... you know, the typical Christmas crab.

We also did a £1 secret Santa and I ended up with a big bar of Dairy Milk!

Omnomnom.

I'm still ever-so itchy. I have NO idea why but it's been weeks now, I know if I went to the doctor's they'd ask ifI could try eliminating anything that might cause it. I HAVE DONE!

The only thing I can think it might might be is the washing powder James uses... Maybe I should force him to wash all of his clothes through with my washing power from now on...

That'd be a right malarky, I'm sure he'd LOVE that...

GRARGH

ALSO, I have to persuade James to let me do some little bits of filming for Alan's new video before Monday because I think it'd be well sweet to be involved even though the song that it's in is sort of mournful and doom-y.
Hmmm, I'll think about it.

Right I'm posting early, right now in the morning.
I know this is the only way that I'll remember to post it as I could easily forgotten (and almost did last night!).

So, right, I had an idea for a video, I might film that later but I don't know I might just stay over in the art rooms for hours...
It's the open day today so we're supposed to stick around.

:D

Tuesday 1 December 2009

Perhaps

Should I try to write every day in December?
I think so.

I mean, I miss this blog malarky even though it is quite a kerfuffle, especially trying to write one at the end of a day!

I've wanted the Johnny Durham RAWR! t-shirt since it came out and today I relented and bought it. With the December promotion it was only £11.60 in total.

Why must I be so impulsive? But then I've told myself it's ok, it's December now, it's like a small Birthday and Christmas present to myself as well as the fact that by not drinking and going out like most people here I have saved that much about 3 times a week that they all spend.

Although now it definitely means that I'm not going to splash out on the digital version of all three Jingle Spells albums...

Right, last night it was "Dorian Gray" at the cinema and it was fantastic and creepy and disgusting but awesome.

I really need to eat.
Bread and butter, good breakfast times!

Kay, I just got in from my PinE lecture and I've also picked up my first assignment.
I got the middle mark, which is ok, I mean, I need to work out referencing properly and be more straightforward rather than descriptive. (I've always had that problem though I can't stop writing as if it's an English essay D:) But for a first attempt I'm happy enough.

Right, now I need to eat and do some reading about equality before 1 then go over to Art for two hours and then the psycho seminar and then more Art because I need to sit and work on the sketch book and do some drawings of my building.

Then tonight it's the SSAGO Christmas meal... that means dressing up and I might even put some mascara on...

I'm wearing bright red tights and a red blouse today, I attired myself BEFORE I knew it was AIDS awareness day but it feels like I did it on purpose.

Friday 27 November 2009

Oblivion

This blog WAS going to be a lovely little update on the things I've done since Tuesday (working on ideas for our sculpture project, seeing Inglorious Basterds and cuddling my boyfriend).

THEN it was going to be about how much I LOVE the Student Breakfast show podcasts, I mean, really. They make me laugh many times.

Also, I was going to include how the game Oblivion has changed my opinion on computer games.

BUT I new want to rant.
I was tired yesterday, very tired, but being a person who knows she won't sleep at night if she takes a nap I stayed awake til a reasonable time.

Around 10pm, over in Fylde they started playing music.

NOW, this wouldn't be a problem usually, I live in Bowland but last night we decided to stay in James' room. This proved to be intensely a bad decision.

At 10.10pm (which admittedly isn't too late) SOMEONE (*cough* Kelsey) started playing some horrendous noises out of what I can only assume was her laptop because it was Spotifyed with adverts.
Not music AT ALL, just that repetitive shite at full blast.

After about half an hour the people involved in whatever celebration was going on went into town.

Sleep commenced UNTIL half past THREE in the morning, when the music restarted at the same crazy level.

Until SIX THIRTY there continued to be sounds of incredible intensity including shouting, swearing and screaming and listening in on the RUBBISH that drunk people say and laugh at.

James and I were NOT entertained.

At least today I will get to relax AND have a lovely (I hope) meal with James and his parents.

Oh and QI is back and David Mitchell made it amazing!

Tuesday 24 November 2009

Ollivander

I once had this AMAZING idea for a fanfiction which was entirely Draco centric and he would go to repent to Ollivander for the whole cellar thing by going off on an adventure to collect wand wood and cores and then learning the business so he could take over from a dying Olli.
It would be SO GOOD if only I had more than just that to work with and a bit of like, time.

I don't even find the time to record all the awesome sauce things I get up to on a day by day basis.

Like going to see all the films I've seen, sitting and playing Oblivion with James, all the awesome ridiculous times I drop Dr.Who references into conversations to hope that someone gets them.

(ERIN DID, about the little shop in the hospital!!)

OH YEAH

We're doing this project in Art now about sculpture and we're going to build a city!

And it's going to be totally awesome.
I just want to sit and plan it out and research for it and make it great and accurate and all that but I have two sodding psychology hours today that totally break it up and spoil it!

:p

I want to go to the charity shop on campus to get some trees for it or something!

In other news, just in case you were wondering, James and I are FANTASTIC!

SQUEE

S'all for now.

(Should I try to do BEDD?)

Thursday 19 November 2009

On the good ship lollipop

This morning I awoke and, when I finally got around to going in the kitchen, was shocked and appalled to find it covered in yoghurt and cream.

Eurgh.

I've been working on a psychology lab report thing and I'm so disenchanted.
Analysis of statistics by themselves is terribly dull but when you didn't even choose the data yourself it makes it many many times worse.

The other night we watched The History Boys with the SSAGO film night, it was epic AND they ordered a cheeseless pizza (with chicken and peppers and onions) so that I could join in. :p

James and I have finished the first season of Black Books and were going to watch the second last night but the DVD wouldn't work, it just froze at 8 seconds into the intro to the first episode.

Bed times.

We watched Anchorman instead.

Tonight is District 9.

I adore my life so much but right now I just feel floppy, ready to collapse.
I feel like hibernating.

Can I do that?

Monday 16 November 2009

Oh gosh

SO

On Wednesday I got to London Euston and hopped on the tube to the Saatchi gallery that I went around by myself because Alex was running late due to ChartJackers last minute videoing.

I sat and ate an apple on the steps and watched some kids play hockey.

I met up with Alex and we discussed many musical projects while we gallivanted through a very arty area and we went to "The White Cube" and eventually the Tate Modern.

The best thing at the Tate was 30 pieces of silver by Whiteread.

Alex bought a make-a-robot kit for Johnny too.

We went for subway (my first ever) and that was epic.

Then we headed back to Alex's where we talked to his Mum, listened to him play some new songs AND made the robot which took two hours. I was allowed to listen to Painfully Mainstream through and I have to say it is an epic example of awesomesauce.

Thursday was an amazingly tiring day that started with bacon sandwiches, shopping for fruit and Russell Brand lols.

It went on to include many ChartJackers moments including the 5:19 show.

Burgers in St. Pancras were awesome and much desired.

I fell asleep on the train after finishing reading The Catcher in the Rye.

Home at last.

I had a day of art galleries with Mum followed by going to see Footloose at the theatre.

Saturday was Embroidery, food with Maddy and Jen, video editing, going to see the lights and a short stint out with some friends in town.

Sunday I came home to Uni, had lunch out with the rents and James and a BBCiPlayer afternoon.

In the evening we went to see Time Traveller's Wife which was awesome and then we watched the new Dr. Who special.

XD

On an adventure

I'm writing this at 7:16am.
Wednesday morning.

Soon enough I'm going to be checking over my bags (tbh I'm travelling light) and leaving my room.

I'm getting a train to London, meeting up with Alex and going to look at art galleries because that is the point of this week.

I've promised myself I'm going to have a mega super awesome happy fun time.

Alas I'm still feeling pretty ill and my cough hasn't gone away.
THIS SHALL NOT SPOIL MY DAYS.

I'm going to be honest here and say that until Sunday is going to be damn difficult for me on the whole "being away from James" front.
*huggles*

I might tweet about some events but most likely things that occur will show up in video form.

Kay, going to set this to post as a surprise later.

Of All Things

If you do NOTHING else today buy this song:

ChartJackers - I've Got Nothing - http://bit.ly/3YfoN0

SEVENTY NINE PEE

All going to Children in Need and I've had the song on repeat and it's actually so addictive.

SO, that Chocolate night was a bit of a fail to be honest on the food front.
Furness were supposed to have chocolate coins but didn't, Cartmel had marshmallows.
Lonsdale were supposedly boiled sweets but also didn't have any out.

Before we went out James and I went to his friend Chris's room and I learned that I am an epic fail at Halo on the xbox. James played the guitar pro intro music and how we giggled.

After the failed chocolate hunt we watched a tv show about black holes where even the experts didn't have a clue what they were talking about really.

On Saturday night we went to town to see the fireworks, we got there for 6:20 and stood in the rain and wind until they started at 8. Nearly half an hour of FANTASTIC fireworks though.

That night I was in bed and asleep by 9:30!

Yesterday morning I watched the old American Top Gear episode with the road kill cow on the car.

I felt dead ill around lunch time and spent most of the day in bed.

James came over for cuddles and we watched the Matrix, ate soup and followed it with a TV show about 00's.

Sleep was gooood last night.

Today was mostly sleep food and a bit of sorting out for London.
Oh and a sexy mac video.

S'all.

I'm off to watch a documentary soon. About ice or something.

Obligatory Apology

I kind of hate that I haven't written in here but, you know, the funny thinga are funny and the annoying things annoying and sometimes I don't want to just write about them, I just want to live them.

This morning we were drawing outside. It was fairly cold.

I'm currently listening to a Luke Conard song, it's beautiful.

Last night we went to see Bruno. What a film... Hilarious and highly risque.

Earlier during the day there was this moment where James made us chase this really slow walking pigeon.

:D

Eeeerm.

The other nights we've watched Mean Girls... and Black Books.

Tonight there is a different free chocolate bar in each of the bars on campus, I think a huge bag will be required.
Oh, I found out it probably isn't free. We'll go along anyway to see!

I played a game of Monopoly this afternoon and FAILED MISERABLY.

Never mind, I have The Hunger Games to read and it's fantastic!

Monday 2 November 2009

Orrite

I spent a lot of time watching things on iPlayer yesterday while I caught up with work.
We also went to the pub quiz of the eve.

Today I had my art lecture, filmed my sexymacaroni video and headed over to art.
I need some sort of turps to clean brushes from oil paint... before I start to use it because I carried over another box of paint today and then just sat and read.

I talked to three of the other girls and then headed over to the Roundhouse where I messed around on photoshop for 2 hours.

Since then I've eaten and played cards.
Oh and emailed some friends that I've needed to email for a fair while!

Coco Before Channel seemed longer than it's 1hr 40. It was good though.

Tiredness is striking me down.

Sunday 1 November 2009

October is Over

It's raining a LOT right now.
James it supposed to out rowing from 10...
Eeep.

Anyhoozle.

Friday afternoon was spent with me reading a Psychology/Statistic textbook and then eating and then running through the rain to James' room with ice cream and Look Around You 2.

Saturday was my attempt to get more work done but it didn't go to plan when instead I edited together my Hazelizabeth video and talked to Hazel over msn.

James' parents came up to take him shopping and we ended up going out for a meal again in the late afternoon.

That left just enough time to watch a couple of videos and then head out to the LU cinema to watch Transformers 2.
It was an ok way to spend Halloween seeing as I was SO tired.
Though I sort of wish I'd been in London it was just great to crash out after the film and lie there sleeping.

This morning I need to KNUCKLE DOWN and get this essay written.

I'll do it, I promise, after I've caught up on the blogs I follow.

:D

Friday 30 October 2009

Nearly November

So I finished with Tuesday night, the Tuesday night I didn't get to film because of my ruined hair from apple bobbing...

Wednesday brought about a Doctors appointment so I could finally get some stuff to sort out my eczema that has recently been SO itchy. Then went mostly like they usually do with Art in the morning and a free(ish) afternoon. In art Ceri, Sian and I went on a walk all over campus taking photos for our project. In the evening, it was our one month night so James and I stayed in and watched Finding Nemo.

:D

Thursday was my day off this week so I slept in, sort of and tried to get work done... I sort of failed at that and so when it got to 2 and we were going to go out to take some more photos I still hadn't get my Psychology done.
I've promised myself I will try to do it this lunch time.

I have a drawing class in about an hour so I'd better stop typing and leave this to fill in later.
Actually no, I'm going to post it now.

Tuesday 27 October 2009

Nurgh, I dunno.

So this morning I got up fairly early and went over to the Art rooms to buy some graphite dust and paper and later on I'm going to have to experiment with that!

I just had an lecture about the importance of play for children.
I might take my laptop over to the Art rooms so that I can type up my Art History notes and then take it over to my seminar... but I wont.

I'm going to "nap" and by "nap" I mean read Looking For Alaska until I hopefully drift off and get maybe an hour in before I have to go work again!

20 mins asleep is probably less useful than none at all.

I spent two hours in the art rooms, went to a psychology seminar where we discussed the stranger situation and then another hour in the art rooms talking to Ceri and Sian about our project... and then hair.

I haven't had such a girly conversation in AGES.

I've plaited my hair so I can go as Magenta from Rocky Horror to the SSAGO party tonight and I'm sat watching World's Strictest Parents and being seriously worried!

Party was gooood. I managed to make my hair go flat due to bobbing for apples.

Watched a bit of Ross Noble too.

Tis all.

Monday 26 October 2009

Nineteen minutes past five

I'm writing this through the bits of the 5:19 show that aren't Chartjackers related.
They're talking about America now, so Alex and Johnny aren't on screen.

I don't have a draft message to describe what has happened since I last wrote!
I'll just go through this quite quickly then.

Things worth reporting:
On Saturday was the "Fright Night"
9pm-8:20am
Drag Me To Hell
[*REC]
The Thing
A quiz interlude
The Strangers
Eden Lake
Black Sheep

It was epic.
James and I did sleep a bit here and there, but the fact we made it through to the end was pretty admirable.

I had about 40 mins sleep then got up to tidy my room.

On Sunday (yesterday) Mum, Dad and Hazel came to visit and we went out for a meal and it was GOOD.

Then last-afternoon/early evening watched up things on iPlayer while James just slept, I felt it was cruel to move him, up til the point I wanted my own bed to myself and threw him out.
3 hours was clearly enough time.

TODAY

mince

I am tempted to leave that as the only word describing my day but I shall give you another

moon

NIGHT

Saturday 24 October 2009

Nerimania got pwnd by Parrot Stories

Friday was yesterday.
I watched the Question Time program on iPlayer and then Russell Howard.
These two programs were entirely different.

In the evening James and I laughed ourselves silly at Russell's stand up dvd which was the only comedy one I brought with me.

I had a late morning this morning which was superb and then in the afternoon did my Art History reading and notes in the laundry.

I went to check my post and do you know what I found?
ONLY BLOODY PARROT STORIES!

My initial reaction was actually to jump up and down.
Calum was also also checking his post and for once I was the weirder one...

Today just gets better. Tom Milsom has released a free Trock EP and also I discovered that "Nerfighteria Island" is downloadable. There are now 18 more songs in my life that are amazing.

And NOW I get to spend a whole night with my amazing boyfriend watching horror films in the Uni cinema. SIX films. "Fright Night" they call it...

THEN TOMORROW I SEE MY FAMILY!

I bloody miss Hazel.

Well, toodleoo.

Wednesday 21 October 2009

No You!

So, last time I wrote to you I was about to go bowling with SSAGO.
That is exactly what happened. :D
We got the bus to town then train to Morcambe.
When swapping shoes they make you keep hold of one because there is a high chance that otherwise you'll lose them both.

Following this adventure on Wednesday I went to this eco art talk by a woman who puts grass on buildings and another who argues with french politicians about this "green clouds" thing. It was well tiring and although fairly interesting, made me wish I'd taken a nap instead.

Last night we attempted to watch Edward Scissor Hands and although the DVD did play all the way through... sleep was had.

There is something I haven't yet shared with you all because up until today I wasn;t entirely sure if it was happening. I've been talking to Alex about meeting up while I'm travelling around in my free week to look at exhibitions and he has offered to let me crash in the nerilocation.
You don't know how excited I am to be going to visit him.
I'm going to miss James terribly though on my 4 days away... when I'm back at home over that weekend it's going to be dead strange.

Today we went exploring on campus to find the little park but it wasn't that good and didn't even have a round-about or see-saw!

I got disorientated by the nap I had mid afternoon then cooked, played cheat with Adam, Nick and Alex (uni Alex) then set off for tonight's film.

Taking of Pelham 123 was awesome, I didn't think I was going to enjoy it but it was paced well and the main characters did an awesome job.

Right now I'm nearly asleep so I shall sign off.

Toodleoo.

Tuesday 20 October 2009

New times

It's Tuesday, you can probably see that actually above this blog post...
To think I thought I would manage to post daily! What a laugh. Still, infrequent is better than never!

Sunday was quite a lazy day, I did my work, chatted on skype to Mum and Hazel sporadically throughout the day and did more work.
For the first time in ages I had time to listen to music because finally I'd got through all the podcasts that had stored up!
I also cooked through a massive batch of mince, in three chunks because of the size of my wok.
On Sunday evening we did the pub quiz and it was fun fun fun.
There was this one moment where I laughed so much that I nearly cried and it was to do with magnificent timing and shining wit, but that is all I shall say in this public forum.

Yesterday I spent just under 6 hours working on practical art and 2 on Art History, I only just managed to get my video up too!

I have recycling annoyances because it was my idea supposedly I'm supposed to be the one who always empties the box even though it's usually filled with other people's drink cans and bottles.

We're doing some experimental line drawing slash mark making... I might show you it in a video.

I've booked tickets for travelling during "week 6"... one to London on Wednesday the 11th November and one to Durham on the Thursday night.
I'm very very excited for this.

Tonight is SSAGO again and we're going bowling in Morecambe... the timing means that I will be out very late so I'm posting now before my very busy day of PinE and Art begins!

Toodles y'all.

PERFUME :D

Saturday 17 October 2009

Neglected

I realise it is a fair while since I wrote for this.

The other night we went to see Coraline.
It was very good but rather creepy.

In our Art still life session on Friday morning I spent an hour and a half drawing a chair, ironing board and collection of wires.

Last night James and I watched Benchwarmers and it was good.

Today we went on a 4 hour walk, a full 4 hours of constant meandering, from Uni to town to the boatclub and back to the bus station. We would have walked back if we had time but we wanted to be back for the cinema. It's a terminator one tonight.

While we were part way through the film the fire alarm went off. I was actually enjoying the film so that was a bit of a bummer. But we went back in and finished watching it... well, I fell asleep and James woke me up when the plot started up towards the end.

I was so stupidly tired after the day that by 11pm I was asleep.

(Same toothbrush, lol.)

Thursday 15 October 2009

Never miss a beat

I had a day off today... I was up too early, well I didn't really sleep much.
Then I went to use the laundry facilities and sat and listened to my Zen and rated all the songs I listened to.
I have over 4000 tracks on there so it's going to take AGES to rate them all.
I fell in love with the song "I'm Yours" by The Script.

I came back over here and drew a picture of M'dawg's dog.

I tried to read my psychology text book and started to sleep.
I went to check out the post and saw NO PARROT STORIES.

>_<
I'm craving that album, CRAVING.

I think I'm going to try and sleep now.

I finished Paper Towns again today and wrote a review in my other blog.

Going to post now.

:D

Wednesday 14 October 2009

Needless to say

Yesterday morning was a strange one as I'm not sure quite where my time went and pretty much straight away it was 11 and I was watching a video about Feral Children that I'd seen before... then we had a talk from this dud about how to use the library, really useful and fun and blargh.

In the afternoon we had a seminar where we talked more in depth about Victor (one of the feral kids) I worked with this really nice girl called Lori.

Afterwards James and I went for a walk so I could locate Cartmel bar so that I'd be able to find my way there later when it was time for the SSAGO meal.

At 5 we parted ways and I'd been told, by the Asda man, Lee, that he's be back on campus about 5, half 5. I waited outside like a right loner til 1 minute to 6 (So long in fact that James got out of his lecture and came to help me carry the bags.
:D
I pretty much had to rush to be ready to go out on our meal.

But the meal was awesome.

I had a gigantic bowl of sausage and mash and carrots.
The people were awesome and it was well fun.
One of the girls is also a massive Wizard Rock fan, the Remus Lupins are her fave and I don't have their stuff... :(
But yeah, I mentioned Trock to her and she's going to go look it up.
My other new friend Sarah and I talked about how her boyfriend is at Durham University and many things beside that.
We shared a chocolatey ice cream "Tickle Me" Sunday.
Nomnomnom.

At one point I half over heard this:
"Is it a girl or a boy"
"Both"
"So it's like Schrödinger's foetus?"

HELL YES, these are my people.

Then one of the girls said something about not understanding how Africa have golfers because there isn't enough grass there.
That dissapointed me but she was fairly drunk and it was funny.

We walked back, in a light mist and I crashed out into bed about 11.

-----

I'm up now, about 9am and I really should get ready enough to be able to leave my room because soon I have to investigate where I can do coloured printing.

So I got to the library and used their coloured printer and it was pap.
Seriously.
That is NOT the sort of printing I want to be doing for my art.

We had a practical session from 11-1 and I went back over from 2-4:20 and finally bought some Gesso.

I still can't believe I didn't pack a glue stick.

Anyhoosle, my project is coming on quite well I think, drawing sleepy faces is quite nifty.

I've just eaten and am about to go over to James' to watch yet another film.

:D

I have quite a large list of none work related but necessary things to do on my Thursday off...

So despite it being a day off it'll probably end up being very very busy.

Right, got to remember to post this rather than leaving it yet another day.

Monday 12 October 2009

Now that I've done a year

And I've started posting more sporadically.
I've decided that if I want to I shall post more than one blog a day.

So here is a little memo to say:
GIVE THIS VIDEO YOUR LOVE

Hazel wrote and sang and played this Trock song all by herself.

I think it's lovely and I hope you do to.

:D

Naff

So today I was up early so that I could go to an Art lecture at 9.
I recorded a video after that and spent this afternoon doing Art over in the Studios and in a session.

I was so hungry after that and now I'm just sat here online not quite knowing what to do but talking to Hazel.

I should go read about Viktor the feral child.
Actually I will.

I haven't seen James all day, it's very strange.
That'll be remedied soon though!

Oh, I have bot all to tell you today.
x

Sunday 11 October 2009

Never gonna give you up

Never gonna let you down...

I had a lie in this morning, which was surreal.
I rarely wake up for the first time at 10am.
And I'm STILL yawning.
Rubbish!

I ate a lot of bacon at lunch and had a tea or rice and a helluva lot of veg.

This afternoon after doing the reading for art I needed to I went over to James' and we watched Star Wars VI and it was awesome.
At the end there are scenes of celebration in loads of cities shoehorned in, each of which he knew the names of and could explain why the scenes were both rubbish and wrong.

I'm watching... well listening to Never Mind the Buzzcocks on iPlayer and it's just not as good as it used to be.

OH GOSH
I'm psyched for tomorrow.

I mean, I don't WANT to be up early and in an Art lecture at 9 but after that I have a video to record, (if Shell ever gives us a theme!) edit and post, Hazel will post her Trock song hopefully and there is a film on called 50 Dead Men Walking about the IRA. Oh and a 2 hour workshop with Ann Marie.

:D

Saturday 10 October 2009

Never mind that I've got cats in my wheelie bin!

I've been intending to use that as a blog title pretty much for the entire year.
Jon Richardson is seriously a hero of mine.

I drew this today while I was sat listening to podcasts so that I wasn't just sitting and looking at the bland grey clouds outside.
Lovely face.
:D

So then I have this draft notepad document that says
"Obscure Charlie and the Chocolate Factory reference"
Which refers to a moment during Adam's Birthday night when Mike had to drink the centre pot from Ring of Fire and said about the flavours changing as he drank.
James said something along the lines of,
"Blueberry pie and cream!"
and so I replied, without prompting,
"Violet, you're turning Violet, Violet!"

XD

Nobody owned up to that lift shit so we all have to pay £1.09 out of our deposits.

In our kitchen last night Callum, Tom, Mike and I discussed Thatcher, Obama, healthcare, moon landings and Disney films.

Then I read this:
http://www.b3ta.com/interview/eoincolfer/

We then went to see Observe and Report, which was hilarious but insane.

I also took the mic out of James for gibberish speech that sounded like Dory's whale speech... He hasn't seen Finding Nemo.
Another thing that needs to be remedied.

---

SO, right now I'm about to go watch Star Trek :D

Night y'all

Friday 9 October 2009

National Poetry Day (8th)

I am very aware it is now the 9th.
I am also aware that I should now clearly post earlier in the day and not try ever to wait til the evening.

I shall quickly recount what has happened since the evening of the 6th.
I went along to SSAGO where I met a giant red pompom spider called SHIT, we did a campus tour/crawl where we had to complete challenges and get photos. One of these needed to be a giraffe so I ren up to my room to get one. :D
Then I went over to James' but fell asleep during Star Wars V... because I'm just that cool.

--

On the 7th (Wednesday) my blog notes say that I had eggs for breakfast, read some of Paper Towns had a pasta salad for lunch, listened to Trock as I did some scrap book customising, listened to Adam and Joe as I filled in a practise census.

I didn't write this up then because it got to the evening, I cooked, chatted to my kitchenmates and then James came over.
Apart from finishing ep V (that I had fallen asleep in yesterday) we watched the entire first series of Look Around You.

"It creates the most common form of Iron, brown iron or Bumcivillian"

---

Segue to yesterday!
I got up early for the Art shop but there was no sign of Bill before 9:45 and then I had to go to a Psychology computer lab session within which there was a fire alarm and a maths test.
:|
I went and did some "art" from 1:15 - 4:15 then came and made some food before art club where I ended up making a sign of my name with things I like around it... If I was to put that on my room door it'd be the 4th label on there.

THEN we had a party for Adam's Birthday where in reality it was the 4 non drinkers in the area watching the others play ring of fire reaaaally loudly.

We ended up snacking on the "nibbles" while they were playing and I was sifting through a packet of lovehearts and come across one that said:

"ME JULIE BEST MUM"

Anyone got any ideas?!

We went over to Bowland bar for a bit where Mike (County) and James (Fylde) were a tiny bit intimidated by the crazy loud renditions of "Bowland til I die"

T'others went into town after but I dinnea and that is the end of all those days.

I won't promise to post more regularly... but I do promise to post again with everything that matters.

Toodles.

Tuesday 6 October 2009

Name Games

For remembering our Psychology Seminar group.
I now introduce myself as Liz, it's rather strange.

The weather was very yeurgh today.
I so didn't want to set out this morning into the rain to go to my first lecture...
We're going to be doing about feral children, it's going to be GOOD. Although the video we're going to watch next week? I've already seen. Sue ftw!

I also ended up spending money on books for my course... just under £54!
But Mum says there is something we can do via Grandad's book thing that'll mean I get the money back.

OH, I was heading over to Art to spend an hour messing with the sketchbook and I popped in to the JCR to check the post.
WOO!
Mum had sent wax crayons and some "spellotape", she has actually put a label on the inside of the roll that says "spellotape" because she is JUST that cool.

:D

I actually adore that all three of them (parents and Haze) wrote a little note to me too! Hazel even included how much she hates Willy Loman (you know? from Death of a Salesman?) When I was replying the word Loman isn't in my t9 but knobo is.
So therefore Willy Knobo lives up to his name.

I'm posting this now because I'm going out in a bit, then coming back to cook and eat before the first SSAGO meeting which is the Scout and Guiding group.

Yey for guiding!

So yeah, I don't really think I'll be in the right mood/state of mind to write when I get in later so you get an EARLY update.
I feel almost as if I owe you this because of some of the shoddy quality you've had to put up with!

Toodle y'all.

Why not leave me a comment today? Just tell me what YOU'VE been doing for once.
:)

Monday 5 October 2009

Nicely avoiding the flu

I woke up to an alarm today and I cannot quite work out if that is the reason I've woken up exhaused?! Maybe something was strange about last night... nerves for today?
Nope, don't think so.

Ash asked if the reason I haven't mentioned James much in here might be because I know Mum reads it, but no, that isn't why. I mean, I have now been going out with him for an entire week (as of tonight) and if Mum hadn't guessed or been told I'd be surprised!

I'm filling my three hours between artyness (of the lecture variety and the practical) with drawing up a plan of the first 10 weeks of Uni, I'll then eat, do my lecture notes and edit and post today's video!

James and I went for a walk around the perimeter of campus before I went to art.
It was niiice.

Our practical session this afternoon was strange but good, just messing with paper and card and textures with wax and ink and scraping bits away.
I came back, made a bacon sandwich, wrote up art notes (that I didn't actually get done earlier) then going over to the studio for a bit to mess around with papers.

I'm now back over in my room wondering why this is commentless...

I might take another early-ish night because tbh I'm quite exhausted...

In week 6 (starting 9th November) I have a week to go visit Art exhibitions around the good ol' UK.
I'm thinking this is a prime time for a trip to London, yes?

Sunday 4 October 2009

Nana's Birthday

It feels strange knowing that if we were home we'd probably have gone out because it's Nana's Birthday and instead I had a lie in and had to fight to get up.

---

I just got in with some bread and chocolate spread for a nice Sunday breakfast and I'm sitting in my room eating even though I promised myself I wouldn't do that.
The thing is, BOTH the kitchens are skanky.
This is what happens when there is not an organised night out and they stay in over here.
It's not, like, deathly rank or even that smelly, it's just messy and dirty.

I went to the library to print some things for art and I think I'm going to attempt some hand washing.

---

It's now nearly 20 past 9 and we've just finished eating dinner.
I felt like a right housewife earlier as I did all the washing up of crockery and surfaces in both kitchens while a few people had gone out to buy in the stuff for dinner.

There are some photos to represent the meal.

The meal was FANTASTIC.
Just finished now.
Lamb and beef both cooked to perfection (in onions, garlic and red wine) with roasts, mash, carrots, peas, broccoli, GRAVY, leaks... OMNOMNOM!

I copied that over from facebook to save time...

Now I'm going to get as much sleep as I can before tomorrow morning's silly early lecture!

Friday 2 October 2009

Now it's October!

I couldn't write yesterday when it was one of the most exciting days of my life.
Admittedly Alex is/was probably slightly more exuberant because Parrot Stories was released! Fully spreading its wings into the world!

Now though it's Caitlin's Birthday and too early and I want to sleep so this is deffo getting "draft"-ed

AND THEN I took time away from the internet, again.

Life is just too good to make excuses to spend time on here.

I can't really remember when I was writing this first bit.
I'll just talk about today briefly...

I went shopping with Ruth and now I have food in the cupboards and freezer which is GOOD.
Then I went for a meal with James and his parents at "The Plough", there was SO much food it was clearly ridiculous.
Also, I've never heard anyone say "pal" as much as they do.

We watched Star Wars ep IV after and that was (Y) (which is a thumbs up on msn that I'm always tempted to type even though all it'll show as here is a Y)
I couldn't help but find C3PO the funniest thing EVER.
Well not ever, but within that film he was.

I've just posted my video and it's 10, and I'm STILL very tired.

As is life.

NIGHT FOLKS.

Wednesday 30 September 2009

Marilyn Munroe

Well my fellow bloggees!
Is that a word I can use?
Not sure.
ANYHOOSLEZ
I'm having an "early night" tonight seeing as tomorrow is our "Big Night Out" with Fyled and Furness.
Tonight for us was "cross dressing night and some of the guys on our corridor got right into it! Boobs and all, it's been pretty epic.

So what do I say, we started today by attempting to attend a talk that was signalled as "essential" but was full so instead we just picked up some leaflets and kitchen-ed it til our final enrolment thingy around 12.

I've finalised my choice to be 2/3 Art 1/3 Psychology in Education.
At some point tomorrow I really have to remember to book the right seminars for Psycho too.

We went along to the freshers fair too and watched some people fence and do judo then a couple of the girls and I, (Alice, Faye, Rosanne and Ruth) [I accidentally managed to type that in alphabetical order even though I didn't mean to!] decided to join in and have a go at the roller disco.
It was hilarious though there wasn't quite enough space to get to any speed without crashing.
Unfortunately that event got "People all over the world, join hands, start a love train" that cheesy old song, wedged in my noodle.

Returning to have kitchen times after that was what happened then James and I watched Donny Darko on my laptop coz, you know, we're just that cool.

(I've got to stop saying "just that cool" I've said it IRL too much...)

Watching the boys slowly transform into girls was so funny, especially Callum in Fayes Marilyn Munroe dress and Rory fascinated by his boobage.

We went to Bowland bar where I spent the night mainly chatting to Ruth, she's soo nice and great to talk to. NERDS FTW! (For her guy costume she wore a Star Wars Vader top :D)

We called it a night about 10 though, came up to the kitchen, played a game of cheat with some of the others and I decided to write this up.

It's the first time I've been able to sit down and just babble so sorry if it was too long and rambly!

I'm betting tomorrow it'll just be... brief, I'll forewarn you!

WOOO!

Must sleep soon!

I got up this morning really early coz I couldn't sleep, I was all sort of jittery.
But I had breakfast and noone was around (being that most people were in a drink induced stupor I suppose).
Anyway I ended up falling asleep again and going back to the kitchen around half 9 where things started to liven up, a bit.
TBH everyone in Bowland is tired and some people are off at sports trials and "Part 1 Lectures"... I think I'm going to nap now so I'm awake later.

---

It's now half 11 at night and I should really sleep I promised myself I would.

During today I went to a talk about Psychology, looked at but didn't buy posters, went to the "Bowland Fair" that was mainly one huge inflatable slide that smelt of feet. Talked to kitchen crew and the reps and went on a walk with James.

Today was LOVELY and James and I went to see "The Hangover" this evening which was one hilarious film.

Tonight was lovely too.

x

Many incoherent days in one!

So I'm writing this in a notepad document at about 11 on Sunday night but I can't post it til today because I don't have an internet account thing and the wireless thing looks like this:
NO WIRELESS INTERNET

So I'm little miss cable from now on.

Oh goodness, everyone I've met so far has been lovely.
SO SO lovely.
We hung around, chated, went on campus tours, met 2/3rd years, ate free food and came back up around 10 to play cards.
WOO!
I don't want to write much especially as I can't connect to the "ResNet" till tomorrow, I also want to sleep because we're at a safety talk at 8:45 in the morning.
-_-

P.S. Is it wrong that one of the first things I wanted to do though was make sure that we recycle in our kitchen... there are some cardboard boxes I think I'm going to lable for cans/glass etc.

The walls are thin... I can hear everything.

:|

I'm continuing this typing at what is now, 10:53 am and I'm sorting out and configuring my internet settings.
I'm pretty petrified that I won't be able to get on the websites I want/need to especially youtube... gosh if that doesn't work I'm epicly screwed... also it seems this is the only type of connection I have an option for, like it or lump it.
I feel I should leave my room to go talk to people but this is clearly a necessity.
Still 6mins to go...

---

It's 12:21, I'm back in my room and I'm HAPPY!
:D
Life is lovely.

Except someone shat in our lift last night.

I'm not able to type right now, not coz I'm drunk (all I had was a pint of coke) just coz I'm giddy.

I don't want to stop blogging.
I'm geek chiq, the internet is my thing.
But I need to sleep if I want to make the talks tomorrow.

OOOOOOOH I almost forgot to say, I know where I am working in the Art Dept now, all is good there though I need to go shopping, I wanna buy some peanut butter.

Oh and there is a trip to New York with Art in Feb for a week.
I think I need to call Mum about that tomorrow!
:p

Moving Out

Most of my things are wedged into our car.
There is just a small pile and my laptop left to sort out.

Including the stuff I got in a package from apartment red today, freakin' cool!
There's a mug and a t-shirt and a pendrive and some post-its and a keyring AND a g'damn YOYO!

Listening to sad songs about Looking for Alaska... I need to read that book again, it's about finding your Great Perhaps. That's what I'm going to do please.

Bribery chocolate slice has been made too and I'm going to miss my late night msn conversations tonight with going to bed early so I'm "well rested".

So I'll just go click onto Chameleon Circuit and settle down.

BYE Y'ALL.

Next blog from Lancaster!

Metro avec Ross

I walked into Durham and hopped on the train to Newcastle, met Ross and we went to the Metro Centre.
After browsing shops but not spending (because the Primani cardigans weren't up to scratch) we went to see the film version of Fame and to be honest I wasn't impressed. It wasn't a film version of the stage show like Rent is of Rent. I don't even dare compare them. The characters were empty shells and I only cared for 2 of the "main characters" and the only scene worth remembering was the first lunch time. It seemed like they'd tried to make an American version of Britania High but with less fit people.

On a better note we had this lush stewed beef for tea and I followed that up with a good 2 hours on Skype with Ross and Alicia.

Truthorfail I only managed 2/5 although I haven't ever studied American History and I've not read that new Dan Brown book.

I'm going to sleep soon.

Mundane?

Sewing for hours today...

I know it's a bit rubbish, some of the shapes are wobbly, but it took ages and I like it. It's based on Durham Cathedral and has to be purple because it's going into a huge collection of similar purple squares.

I also reached the fourth season of Weeds.
It's still good and so ridiculous.

OH! I also helped mum make biscuits for her Macmillan coffee sale tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm out from lunch onward so I'm kind of getting panicky about getting everything packed.

Wooo for panic Saturday.

Many varieties of cake

I had music woes today, transferring from my external harddrive to my mp3 player with clickety-typety-drag procedures for hours.
BUT it is sorted now and, apart from a few album art fails, it deserves a big *thumbs up*.

As well as that, I spent an hour in Caitlin's hot tub with her, Jen (our Ranger leader) and Hazel.
We talked about varieties of chocolate cake, prams and our upcoming Uni freshers weeks.

ALSO, there was Rocky Road. Nom nom nom.
Caitlin has this mysteriously great recipe which is just plain and simple YUM.

I'm feeling a tiny bit morose that I probably wont see her 'til Christmas time now.
*sigh*

Good job I have my msn buddies to talk to.
Yey for M and James!

My day in two halves

First Half: Time Warp

This right in front of you now, set out in little pixels on which ever screen you're reading on, is my 355th post... I started on Wednesday, 24 September 2008 so I've managed nearly every day for a year and I'm very proud of myself.

I hope you don't mind but I feel like revisiting bits of my first blog and going through it - to see how far I've come I suppose.

A self welcome.

Oh so firstly this was me unknowingly starting the alphabet thing that I get asked about about twice a month. My first week ended up being all A's so when it got to October I decided to move onto B and so on.

I suppose it will be useful, this website, I can post photos without having to print them off and stick them in a book. I can put a photo of a ticket from an event without separating it from my collection. I can make it legible with a controlled font and best of all I can edit.

It really breaks my heart I stopped with the photos of tickets but I might start this again, and thank goodness for computer fonts.

Last night I was listening to VLR and heard about the youTube article in Stuff magazine...
My camera broke in the Summer and so I need to find a new one, consequently I have a huge pile of old Stuff magazines on my floor... so I browsed through till I found the article Alex had mentioned. I don't quite know why but that was a reasonably good start to my day, to know I had heard of 3/6 of the people in that article.

Little did I know then that in a years time I'd actually have MET Alex and become his friend never mind contributing to THIS. GO ORDER IT NOW. <3 LIFE

Anyhoo... School, it was another of our head of sixthform's allegorical assemblies today. "Things don't happen over night, you have to work for them". Fair enough.

Damn right I worked and yeah it might have taken that whole year but I'm sure glad of what I've achieved!

Also my personal statement is getting pretty close to being finished, I just wish I knew quite exactly where I want to apply for uni!

On Sunday I go to Lancaster. SUNDAY.
Eeep. A year ago I didn't have a clue and now I cannot wait. New people, new places, new experiences. XD

.
I don't think I'll tell anyone about this for now, just see how this pans out.

As if I even said that. I told Mum about within the week and Sarah Walker too. Then Hannah started reading it.
I still remained pretty much anonymous to the rest of the internet until BEDA though and I met Ash and I haven't looked back.
Being more youtubian with Hazel hasn't hurt.
I really love writing this blog.
Most of my old photos have tinypicfailed... :(

Second Half: Today

So firstly I have to rush to the door to sign for a parcel, the two books on my reading list for Uni. This is not good as I just got up from bed and am not really in a state to be seen by ANYONE.

Then I discover that this exists: http://www.myspace.com/armouredbearcub and they've only gone and written a song about one of my favourite literary characters EVER. Lee Scoresby.

Now I've just written all of the above and it's nearly 11 am. I'm waiting 13 mins for mega video to be my friend again.

I put loads of eyeliner on and forgot I was going to the opticians later...
Mum made me take it off.
I got a haircut while I was out too, it looks no different.
I have a webcam with a microphone so now Skype is a option.

I've just got in from cadets and they signed me a good-luck card.
I'm in a happy place.

Many things

Today I made a video about socks that ended up being more rant than about socks...
I watched the first hour and thirty minutes of Dark Knight while ironing.
I kept an msn conversation going from 12:06 til now...
I've watched a bit of Benjy's blog tv show but had to go because I need to do other things.
I talked a little bit to Amy about Neopets because really, there is no escaping once you get sucked back in.
It's raining now... I adore the sound it creates on my slated attic-y roof window. It makes me feel cosy!
Oh yeah I also had this song stuck in my head all day since I watched the video...
"Do you want Georgia to leave? No, No, No!"
Thanks Alex.

XD

I'm watching University Challenge now.
YEY!

Modified thinking

I cannot face another day of rushing my blog at some indeterminate time before midnight and I just know that if I don't start it now (around 4pm) I will end up with a listy thing.

Hang on, I don't want it to seem that I have anything against lists, or against brevity either. I just think I should sometimes put a little bit more effort into this aisle of my creative outlet.

I might have new readers, I never know if I will because I never see my link shared, UNTIL TODAY!
When I was at SitC I met a guy called Luke who I've recently been watching create SSS videos. Today he linked to this here blog of mine because apparently I have an admirable writing style. :)

To the content we must arrive and yet it's Sunday, it's a sunny Sunday which makes me think that for once it is living up to the way the day is spelt.

If I went into detail about what I actually did today (moving things around and vacuuming) you might just x down your browser or return to your homepage to start again.
Other things I did today included watching a quiz on tv about food, spending maybe a bit too long on msn and revisiting my neopets account "just to see what has changed".

Don't do that Liz, they lure you in with games and time wastage. Then again there are times in my life when I want to sit and waste time on a game right? We all do it even if it's just spider solitaire. But you don't earn anything from that and you don't make friends or win a pretty picture to put next to your name... Oh dear.

I almost deleted the above paragraph but I'm being positive and honest and open and it's true. Sometimes I play Meerca Chase because it IS better than minesweeper.

I lost the track of this blog, I called it "modified thinking" because I was going to rant about and discuss the ideas in "The Secret" which I'm reading.

Positive thinking is damn useful but I don't think it actually is the be all and end all of our entire lives.

What do you think? Have you read or heard about 'the secret', do you think it's a load of tripe or the way we should live our lives? Does cosmic ordering work?

(Actually I might have to get back to you on this cosmic ordering thing it might have accidentally worked from something I ordered about 2 months ago. We shall SEE!)

Marvelous

So that moment will make me happy for a good long while to come.
The entire night was mega, hilarious, perma-smile enhancing.
I'm not going to blog any details because Dave Gorman (if you're not a constant blog reader of mine and have somehow just stumbled upon this one entry and not the one yesterday where I quite clearly got excited) asked us quite politely not to.

What I will say is that he was brilliant and a full 5/5.

Today we shopped a bit before coming home, I got a coat.
It's almost military style.
I also got a baking tray.

We ate at this art gallery in Hexham and I had this lush beef and gravy baguette.
In a little shop there Mum bought me the book "The Secret" that has been widely recommended.

W00p!

I'd quite like to do a project on birds, I have a huge collection of wildlife magazines.

Oh and tomorrow I'd like to watch a film or something... just because.

I can hear fireworks! Wonder what they're celebrating?

Man I'm excited!

Have to post this before we skedaddle to Carlisle to see DAVE GORMAN!

Gosh, I'm pretty darn excited!
The last time we saw him was his Googlewhack tour and Hazel looked like this:

And I wore an denim jacket!

I'm going out in a bit and I don't think I'll get back online before we leave so I'll outline what I think I'll be doing instead of what I've done.

Mum and me are going to Dalton Park to buy some stuff for Uni then to visit one of her friends.
Then we'll come back and pack a bag fo' tonight.

Right, I want to close down the interwebs so I can see if my music'll transfer.
Less distractions more productivity...

Making Lists

I need to buy a coat.
Put up some photos from today onto facebook.
Add all my music to my mp3 player correctly.
Add some good photos to that.
Buy some plates and cutlery.
Pack up all my other clothes.
Oh and MUGS.
Send some things to M. :)
Make packages for M and Ash for #hopefully# Christmas.
Tidy my desk.
Catch up with Ross before I go.
Plenty of other things too.

Today I was woken by a text that seemed to be near to complete nonsense but apparently was instructions to help me progress in a zelda-like game.
I went to post a parcel for Mum and walked into town.
I got some VERY strange looks because I was wearing my Avenue Q top.
The one that says "I'm not wearing underwear today!"
I was wearing underwear!
I spend the first half of the day with Laura, Jen and Maddy then Maddy left because she had to go training and so we went up to the park and sat in the sun.
Taking photos and being silly and saying every phrase we could imagine that started with "imagine if you were born a..."

:D

I'm going to miss those three, so much. Laura goes to Leeds on Sunday!

My gorgeous new Zen arrived today.
It's charging and I'm trying to sort music out... but it's a bit confusing atm.
I can't find how to get WMP to access my converted iTunes library...
Oh, sorted.

I've bought His Dark Materials, all three in one, for only £4.50.
This means I can take it away! :D

Tis all I have to blog about...

Wednesday 16 September 2009

Minesweeper

I completed the expert again today... productive!
MSN is being a big distraction now because three of my favourite people to talk to: M, Ash and James, are all talking and it's hectic.

Basically I've packed up a bit today and tried on dresses to see if they still fit and/or look nice.

Watched up to the end of Ep 4 of Season 2 of Weeds.

Helped Ash with her art project slightly.

Eaten fish and chips and not really enjoyed it for once.

I can't blog today, my fingers do NOT want to be typing in this white backlit box.
They crave msn.

Shush you.

I can do what I want right?

Tuesday 15 September 2009

Macaroni

I traced over some photos yesterday but it helps them blend in.
I actually think I'm going to get it printed on a t-shirt!

I was sorting through things in my room... going through a massive pile of magazines and almost had a mini break down over Mark Spate again. Man I loved Smart so much.

By reccomendation I watched the first three episodes of Weeds, the little boxes song gets very much trapped in my head. It's actually really good even though the situations are so alien to me.

At cadets the under tens insisted on being zombie children and mauling me... it gets pretty uncomfortable and completely wears me out.
Also I found this book on the shelf:

Nora, that is for you.

I'm watching Dr. Horrible, I love it. A few more times and I'll have seen it enough to know the words properly.

Sorry for the blog being all over the place but I feel a bit rubbish, like I'm going to be sick, and I'm finding concentration difficult.

Nightynight

Must write a blog

I filmed my favourite of my videos ever today.

It was fun and I felt all accomplished.

Then a belly ache hit me and made me really grumpy and unsettled.

Also, msn has gone daft...

The following message could not be delivered because you have exceeded the maximum number of messages per minute. Please try again later.

So I've decided to have an early night.

I'm going to start a book called "The Fog" tonight because I miss reading and I always end up being online instead!

Mimble Wimble

"Uncle Vernon, who had gone very pale, whispered something that sounded like "Mimblewimble."

I don't really feel like writing here today...
That might be to do with the fact my walls around my bed are now lacking in all poster/postcard/photo or clothes tag adornments as I've sorted them all out to see which ones I'm taking for Uni accommodation. More than 4 have giraffes on them.
<3

The other thing I did today apart from spend hours on msn (actually talking for once!) was to draw up a plan for my freshers week so I don't miss out. We have apparently got a Super Heroes night and a Cross Dressing night (where you're supposed to borrow from your neighbours)...

I'm going to go stick 'Pretty in Pink and Green' on again.

Bye y'all.

Saturday 12 September 2009

Mighty fine

Today was hang out in town with Maddy, Laura and Jen day.
We wanted to go on the river before lunch so we met at 11 and hired a little rowing boat so that we could sit back in the sun on the water and natter. We played terrible music from our phones into the air and sang along to TATU All The Things I Said and Linkin Park Encore.
There were three office chairs and a door in the river today and I almost got pelted with bread that was meant for ducks.

After a lunch in Peter's (where they charge more to eat in ¬_¬) we wandered further down the river to sit on a big cow.

3 hours just went like that *snaps fingers* and I don't know really when I'll see them again which sucks... I mean Jen starts on Monday, Laura goes next weekend, then me and Maddy starts on the 3rd.
"In the end it doesn't even matter..."

We planned to go to the cinema to see Dorian Gray (which I constantly feel I should spell Grey) but as we're poor and didn't want to waste time in silence watching when we could talk, we didn't. BUT I did end up seeing a film today, with the parentals and Hazel. (500) Days of Summer. It was sweet and had music that suited the story and had quirky little effects in it and a voice over that chimed in now and then and reminded me of Stranger Than Fiction. Generally I'd give it a +3 as it doesn't quite make me want to watch it again in a hurry but was still very good.

As soon as we got in the house I stuck the tv on to watch back the BBC switch show about chartjackers. It just made me feel all ^_^ to know that I've met three of those guys and that I'm part of youtube. I mean, maybe I won't be too involved in this thing in the end but it just looked fantastic.
Hazel and I also couldn't help laughing when Alex was there suggesting we wear wigs in the video. Oh old old jokes.

It may or may not interest you to know that I have finally changed my desktop background in my laptop. I was going to wait till the photos Kai took of the Johhny Durham t-shirts at SitC were released but I couldn't resist the change from this:

Shh (I'm allowed to fangirl I a want and this had been my bg for about 6 months...)
To this:

P.S.
Your verdict blog readers do I take twister to Uni? I can see it on my shelf and I cannot make my own decisions.
