Nearly November

So I finished with Tuesday night, the Tuesday night I didn't get to film because of my ruined hair from apple bobbing...

Wednesday brought about a Doctors appointment so I could finally get some stuff to sort out my eczema that has recently been SO itchy. Then went mostly like they usually do with Art in the morning and a free(ish) afternoon. In art Ceri, Sian and I went on a walk all over campus taking photos for our project. In the evening, it was our one month night so James and I stayed in and watched Finding Nemo.

:D

Thursday was my day off this week so I slept in, sort of and tried to get work done... I sort of failed at that and so when it got to 2 and we were going to go out to take some more photos I still hadn't get my Psychology done.
I've promised myself I will try to do it this lunch time.

I have a drawing class in about an hour so I'd better stop typing and leave this to fill in later.
Actually no, I'm going to post it now.

Tuesday 27 October 2009

Nurgh, I dunno.

So this morning I got up fairly early and went over to the Art rooms to buy some graphite dust and paper and later on I'm going to have to experiment with that!

I just had an lecture about the importance of play for children.
I might take my laptop over to the Art rooms so that I can type up my Art History notes and then take it over to my seminar... but I wont.

I'm going to "nap" and by "nap" I mean read Looking For Alaska until I hopefully drift off and get maybe an hour in before I have to go work again!

20 mins asleep is probably less useful than none at all.

I spent two hours in the art rooms, went to a psychology seminar where we discussed the stranger situation and then another hour in the art rooms talking to Ceri and Sian about our project... and then hair.

I haven't had such a girly conversation in AGES.

I've plaited my hair so I can go as Magenta from Rocky Horror to the SSAGO party tonight and I'm sat watching World's Strictest Parents and being seriously worried!

Party was gooood. I managed to make my hair go flat due to bobbing for apples.

Watched a bit of Ross Noble too.

Tis all.

Nineteen minutes past five

I'm writing this through the bits of the 5:19 show that aren't Chartjackers related.
They're talking about America now, so Alex and Johnny aren't on screen.

I don't have a draft message to describe what has happened since I last wrote!
I'll just go through this quite quickly then.

Things worth reporting:
On Saturday was the "Fright Night"
9pm-8:20am
Drag Me To Hell
[*REC]
The Thing
A quiz interlude
The Strangers
Eden Lake
Black Sheep

It was epic.
James and I did sleep a bit here and there, but the fact we made it through to the end was pretty admirable.

I had about 40 mins sleep then got up to tidy my room.

On Sunday (yesterday) Mum, Dad and Hazel came to visit and we went out for a meal and it was GOOD.

Then last-afternoon/early evening watched up things on iPlayer while James just slept, I felt it was cruel to move him, up til the point I wanted my own bed to myself and threw him out.
3 hours was clearly enough time.

TODAY

mince

I am tempted to leave that as the only word describing my day but I shall give you another

moon

Nerimania got pwnd by Parrot Stories

Friday was yesterday.
I watched the Question Time program on iPlayer and then Russell Howard.
These two programs were entirely different.

In the evening James and I laughed ourselves silly at Russell's stand up dvd which was the only comedy one I brought with me.

I had a late morning this morning which was superb and then in the afternoon did my Art History reading and notes in the laundry.

I went to check my post and do you know what I found?
ONLY BLOODY PARROT STORIES!

My initial reaction was actually to jump up and down.
Calum was also also checking his post and for once I was the weirder one...

Today just gets better. Tom Milsom has released a free Trock EP and also I discovered that "Nerfighteria Island" is downloadable. There are now 18 more songs in my life that are amazing.

And NOW I get to spend a whole night with my amazing boyfriend watching horror films in the Uni cinema. SIX films. "Fright Night" they call it...

THEN TOMORROW I SEE MY FAMILY!

I bloody miss Hazel.

Well, toodleoo.

Wednesday 21 October 2009

No You!

So, last time I wrote to you I was about to go bowling with SSAGO.
That is exactly what happened. :D
We got the bus to town then train to Morcambe.
When swapping shoes they make you keep hold of one because there is a high chance that otherwise you'll lose them both.

Following this adventure on Wednesday I went to this eco art talk by a woman who puts grass on buildings and another who argues with french politicians about this "green clouds" thing. It was well tiring and although fairly interesting, made me wish I'd taken a nap instead.

Last night we attempted to watch Edward Scissor Hands and although the DVD did play all the way through... sleep was had.

There is something I haven't yet shared with you all because up until today I wasn;t entirely sure if it was happening. I've been talking to Alex about meeting up while I'm travelling around in my free week to look at exhibitions and he has offered to let me crash in the nerilocation.
You don't know how excited I am to be going to visit him.
I'm going to miss James terribly though on my 4 days away... when I'm back at home over that weekend it's going to be dead strange.

Today we went exploring on campus to find the little park but it wasn't that good and didn't even have a round-about or see-saw!

I got disorientated by the nap I had mid afternoon then cooked, played cheat with Adam, Nick and Alex (uni Alex) then set off for tonight's film.

Taking of Pelham 123 was awesome, I didn't think I was going to enjoy it but it was paced well and the main characters did an awesome job.

Right now I'm nearly asleep so I shall sign off.

Toodleoo.

New times

It's Tuesday, you can probably see that actually above this blog post...
To think I thought I would manage to post daily! What a laugh. Still, infrequent is better than never!

Sunday was quite a lazy day, I did my work, chatted on skype to Mum and Hazel sporadically throughout the day and did more work.
For the first time in ages I had time to listen to music because finally I'd got through all the podcasts that had stored up!
I also cooked through a massive batch of mince, in three chunks because of the size of my wok.
On Sunday evening we did the pub quiz and it was fun fun fun.
There was this one moment where I laughed so much that I nearly cried and it was to do with magnificent timing and shining wit, but that is all I shall say in this public forum.

Yesterday I spent just under 6 hours working on practical art and 2 on Art History, I only just managed to get my video up too!

I have recycling annoyances because it was my idea supposedly I'm supposed to be the one who always empties the box even though it's usually filled with other people's drink cans and bottles.

We're doing some experimental line drawing slash mark making... I might show you it in a video.

I've booked tickets for travelling during "week 6"... one to London on Wednesday the 11th November and one to Durham on the Thursday night.
I'm very very excited for this.

Tonight is SSAGO again and we're going bowling in Morecambe... the timing means that I will be out very late so I'm posting now before my very busy day of PinE and Art begins!

Toodles y'all.

PERFUME :D

Neglected

I realise it is a fair while since I wrote for this.

The other night we went to see Coraline.
It was very good but rather creepy.

In our Art still life session on Friday morning I spent an hour and a half drawing a chair, ironing board and collection of wires.

Last night James and I watched Benchwarmers and it was good.

Today we went on a 4 hour walk, a full 4 hours of constant meandering, from Uni to town to the boatclub and back to the bus station. We would have walked back if we had time but we wanted to be back for the cinema. It's a terminator one tonight.

While we were part way through the film the fire alarm went off. I was actually enjoying the film so that was a bit of a bummer. But we went back in and finished watching it... well, I fell asleep and James woke me up when the plot started up towards the end.

I was so stupidly tired after the day that by 11pm I was asleep.

(Same toothbrush, lol.)

Thursday 15 October 2009

Never miss a beat

I had a day off today... I was up too early, well I didn't really sleep much.
Then I went to use the laundry facilities and sat and listened to my Zen and rated all the songs I listened to.
I have over 4000 tracks on there so it's going to take AGES to rate them all.
I fell in love with the song "I'm Yours" by The Script.

I came back over here and drew a picture of M'dawg's dog.

I tried to read my psychology text book and started to sleep.
I went to check out the post and saw NO PARROT STORIES.

>_<
I'm craving that album, CRAVING.

I think I'm going to try and sleep now.

I finished Paper Towns again today and wrote a review in my other blog.

Going to post now.

:D

Wednesday 14 October 2009

Needless to say

Yesterday morning was a strange one as I'm not sure quite where my time went and pretty much straight away it was 11 and I was watching a video about Feral Children that I'd seen before... then we had a talk from this dud about how to use the library, really useful and fun and blargh.

In the afternoon we had a seminar where we talked more in depth about Victor (one of the feral kids) I worked with this really nice girl called Lori.

Afterwards James and I went for a walk so I could locate Cartmel bar so that I'd be able to find my way there later when it was time for the SSAGO meal.

At 5 we parted ways and I'd been told, by the Asda man, Lee, that he's be back on campus about 5, half 5. I waited outside like a right loner til 1 minute to 6 (So long in fact that James got out of his lecture and came to help me carry the bags.
:D
I pretty much had to rush to be ready to go out on our meal.

But the meal was awesome.

I had a gigantic bowl of sausage and mash and carrots.
The people were awesome and it was well fun.
One of the girls is also a massive Wizard Rock fan, the Remus Lupins are her fave and I don't have their stuff... :(
But yeah, I mentioned Trock to her and she's going to go look it up.
My other new friend Sarah and I talked about how her boyfriend is at Durham University and many things beside that.
We shared a chocolatey ice cream "Tickle Me" Sunday.
Nomnomnom.

At one point I half over heard this:
"Is it a girl or a boy"
"Both"
"So it's like Schrödinger's foetus?"

HELL YES, these are my people.

Then one of the girls said something about not understanding how Africa have golfers because there isn't enough grass there.
That dissapointed me but she was fairly drunk and it was funny.

We walked back, in a light mist and I crashed out into bed about 11.

-----

I'm up now, about 9am and I really should get ready enough to be able to leave my room because soon I have to investigate where I can do coloured printing.

So I got to the library and used their coloured printer and it was pap.
Seriously.
That is NOT the sort of printing I want to be doing for my art.

We had a practical session from 11-1 and I went back over from 2-4:20 and finally bought some Gesso.

I still can't believe I didn't pack a glue stick.

Anyhoosle, my project is coming on quite well I think, drawing sleepy faces is quite nifty.

I've just eaten and am about to go over to James' to watch yet another film.

:D

I have quite a large list of none work related but necessary things to do on my Thursday off...

So despite it being a day off it'll probably end up being very very busy.

Right, got to remember to post this rather than leaving it yet another day.

Monday 12 October 2009

Now that I've done a year

And I've started posting more sporadically.
I've decided that if I want to I shall post more than one blog a day.

So here is a little memo to say:
GIVE THIS VIDEO YOUR LOVE

Hazel wrote and sang and played this Trock song all by herself.

I think it's lovely and I hope you do to.

:D

Naff

So today I was up early so that I could go to an Art lecture at 9.
I recorded a video after that and spent this afternoon doing Art over in the Studios and in a session.

I was so hungry after that and now I'm just sat here online not quite knowing what to do but talking to Hazel.

I should go read about Viktor the feral child.
Actually I will.

I haven't seen James all day, it's very strange.
That'll be remedied soon though!

Oh, I have bot all to tell you today.
x

Sunday 11 October 2009

Never gonna give you up

Never gonna let you down...

I had a lie in this morning, which was surreal.
I rarely wake up for the first time at 10am.
And I'm STILL yawning.
Rubbish!

I ate a lot of bacon at lunch and had a tea or rice and a helluva lot of veg.

This afternoon after doing the reading for art I needed to I went over to James' and we watched Star Wars VI and it was awesome.
At the end there are scenes of celebration in loads of cities shoehorned in, each of which he knew the names of and could explain why the scenes were both rubbish and wrong.

I'm watching... well listening to Never Mind the Buzzcocks on iPlayer and it's just not as good as it used to be.

OH GOSH
I'm psyched for tomorrow.

I mean, I don't WANT to be up early and in an Art lecture at 9 but after that I have a video to record, (if Shell ever gives us a theme!) edit and post, Hazel will post her Trock song hopefully and there is a film on called 50 Dead Men Walking about the IRA. Oh and a 2 hour workshop with Ann Marie.

:D

Saturday 10 October 2009

Never mind that I've got cats in my wheelie bin!

I've been intending to use that as a blog title pretty much for the entire year.
Jon Richardson is seriously a hero of mine.

I drew this today while I was sat listening to podcasts so that I wasn't just sitting and looking at the bland grey clouds outside.
Lovely face.
:D

So then I have this draft notepad document that says
"Obscure Charlie and the Chocolate Factory reference"
Which refers to a moment during Adam's Birthday night when Mike had to drink the centre pot from Ring of Fire and said about the flavours changing as he drank.
James said something along the lines of,
"Blueberry pie and cream!"
and so I replied, without prompting,
"Violet, you're turning Violet, Violet!"

XD

Nobody owned up to that lift shit so we all have to pay £1.09 out of our deposits.

In our kitchen last night Callum, Tom, Mike and I discussed Thatcher, Obama, healthcare, moon landings and Disney films.

Then I read this:
http://www.b3ta.com/interview/eoincolfer/

We then went to see Observe and Report, which was hilarious but insane.

I also took the mic out of James for gibberish speech that sounded like Dory's whale speech... He hasn't seen Finding Nemo.
Another thing that needs to be remedied.

---

SO, right now I'm about to go watch Star Trek :D

Night y'all

Friday 9 October 2009

National Poetry Day (8th)

I am very aware it is now the 9th.
I am also aware that I should now clearly post earlier in the day and not try ever to wait til the evening.

I shall quickly recount what has happened since the evening of the 6th.
I went along to SSAGO where I met a giant red pompom spider called SHIT, we did a campus tour/crawl where we had to complete challenges and get photos. One of these needed to be a giraffe so I ren up to my room to get one. :D
Then I went over to James' but fell asleep during Star Wars V... because I'm just that cool.

--

On the 7th (Wednesday) my blog notes say that I had eggs for breakfast, read some of Paper Towns had a pasta salad for lunch, listened to Trock as I did some scrap book customising, listened to Adam and Joe as I filled in a practise census.

I didn't write this up then because it got to the evening, I cooked, chatted to my kitchenmates and then James came over.
Apart from finishing ep V (that I had fallen asleep in yesterday) we watched the entire first series of Look Around You.

"It creates the most common form of Iron, brown iron or Bumcivillian"

---

Segue to yesterday!
I got up early for the Art shop but there was no sign of Bill before 9:45 and then I had to go to a Psychology computer lab session within which there was a fire alarm and a maths test.
:|
I went and did some "art" from 1:15 - 4:15 then came and made some food before art club where I ended up making a sign of my name with things I like around it... If I was to put that on my room door it'd be the 4th label on there.

THEN we had a party for Adam's Birthday where in reality it was the 4 non drinkers in the area watching the others play ring of fire reaaaally loudly.

We ended up snacking on the "nibbles" while they were playing and I was sifting through a packet of lovehearts and come across one that said:

"ME JULIE BEST MUM"

Anyone got any ideas?!

We went over to Bowland bar for a bit where Mike (County) and James (Fylde) were a tiny bit intimidated by the crazy loud renditions of "Bowland til I die"

T'others went into town after but I dinnea and that is the end of all those days.

I won't promise to post more regularly... but I do promise to post again with everything that matters.

Toodles.

Tuesday 6 October 2009

Name Games

For remembering our Psychology Seminar group.
I now introduce myself as Liz, it's rather strange.

The weather was very yeurgh today.
I so didn't want to set out this morning into the rain to go to my first lecture...
We're going to be doing about feral children, it's going to be GOOD. Although the video we're going to watch next week? I've already seen. Sue ftw!

I also ended up spending money on books for my course... just under £54!
But Mum says there is something we can do via Grandad's book thing that'll mean I get the money back.

OH, I was heading over to Art to spend an hour messing with the sketchbook and I popped in to the JCR to check the post.
WOO!
Mum had sent wax crayons and some "spellotape", she has actually put a label on the inside of the roll that says "spellotape" because she is JUST that cool.

:D

I actually adore that all three of them (parents and Haze) wrote a little note to me too! Hazel even included how much she hates Willy Loman (you know? from Death of a Salesman?) When I was replying the word Loman isn't in my t9 but knobo is.
So therefore Willy Knobo lives up to his name.

I'm posting this now because I'm going out in a bit, then coming back to cook and eat before the first SSAGO meeting which is the Scout and Guiding group.

Yey for guiding!

So yeah, I don't really think I'll be in the right mood/state of mind to write when I get in later so you get an EARLY update.
I feel almost as if I owe you this because of some of the shoddy quality you've had to put up with!

Toodle y'all.

Why not leave me a comment today? Just tell me what YOU'VE been doing for once.
:)

Monday 5 October 2009

Nicely avoiding the flu

I woke up to an alarm today and I cannot quite work out if that is the reason I've woken up exhaused?! Maybe something was strange about last night... nerves for today?
Nope, don't think so.

Ash asked if the reason I haven't mentioned James much in here might be because I know Mum reads it, but no, that isn't why. I mean, I have now been going out with him for an entire week (as of tonight) and if Mum hadn't guessed or been told I'd be surprised!

I'm filling my three hours between artyness (of the lecture variety and the practical) with drawing up a plan of the first 10 weeks of Uni, I'll then eat, do my lecture notes and edit and post today's video!

James and I went for a walk around the perimeter of campus before I went to art.
It was niiice.

Our practical session this afternoon was strange but good, just messing with paper and card and textures with wax and ink and scraping bits away.
I came back, made a bacon sandwich, wrote up art notes (that I didn't actually get done earlier) then going over to the studio for a bit to mess around with papers.

I'm now back over in my room wondering why this is commentless...

I might take another early-ish night because tbh I'm quite exhausted...

In week 6 (starting 9th November) I have a week to go visit Art exhibitions around the good ol' UK.
I'm thinking this is a prime time for a trip to London, yes?

xxxxx

Sunday 4 October 2009

Nana's Birthday

It feels strange knowing that if we were home we'd probably have gone out because it's Nana's Birthday and instead I had a lie in and had to fight to get up.

---

I just got in with some bread and chocolate spread for a nice Sunday breakfast and I'm sitting in my room eating even though I promised myself I wouldn't do that.
The thing is, BOTH the kitchens are skanky.
This is what happens when there is not an organised night out and they stay in over here.
It's not, like, deathly rank or even that smelly, it's just messy and dirty.

I went to the library to print some things for art and I think I'm going to attempt some hand washing.

---

It's now nearly 20 past 9 and we've just finished eating dinner.
I felt like a right housewife earlier as I did all the washing up of crockery and surfaces in both kitchens while a few people had gone out to buy in the stuff for dinner.

There are some photos to represent the meal.

The meal was FANTASTIC.
Just finished now.
Lamb and beef both cooked to perfection (in onions, garlic and red wine) with roasts, mash, carrots, peas, broccoli, GRAVY, leaks... OMNOMNOM!

I copied that over from facebook to save time...

Now I'm going to get as much sleep as I can before tomorrow morning's silly early lecture!

Friday 2 October 2009

Now it's October!

I couldn't write yesterday when it was one of the most exciting days of my life.
Admittedly Alex is/was probably slightly more exuberant because Parrot Stories was released! Fully spreading its wings into the world!

Now though it's Caitlin's Birthday and too early and I want to sleep so this is deffo getting "draft"-ed

AND THEN I took time away from the internet, again.

Life is just too good to make excuses to spend time on here.

I can't really remember when I was writing this first bit.
I'll just talk about today briefly...

I went shopping with Ruth and now I have food in the cupboards and freezer which is GOOD.
Then I went for a meal with James and his parents at "The Plough", there was SO much food it was clearly ridiculous.
Also, I've never heard anyone say "pal" as much as they do.

We watched Star Wars ep IV after and that was (Y) (which is a thumbs up on msn that I'm always tempted to type even though all it'll show as here is a Y)
I couldn't help but find C3PO the funniest thing EVER.
Well not ever, but within that film he was.

I've just posted my video and it's 10, and I'm STILL very tired.

As is life.

NIGHT FOLKS.
